Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Transformers OneAlthoughTransformers Onedoes feature numerous futureAutobots and Decepticons, some notable bots were absent from the new animated movie. Having been centered around the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron, it makes sense that not every single bot would be featured in this prequel film. That said, there is a good number of Transformers that would be very exciting to see in future installments.

Transformers One’scast is primarily centered around Orion Pax/Optimus Prime (Chris Hemsworth), D-16/Megatron (Brian Tyree Henry), Elita-1 (Scarlett Johansson), and B-127 (Keegan-Michael Key). However, other classic Transformers are involved in the prequel film such as Sentinel Prime, Airachnid, Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave. There are also multiple cameo appearances from the likes of Ironhide, Jazz, Cliffjumper, and more. That said, here are 10 different Autobots and Decepticons missing fromTransformers Onethat would be very cool to see in a sequel.

10Ratchet

Transformers One Does Feature His Name

Following their bold entry into the Iacon 5000 despite not having transformation cogs, Orion Pax and D-16 end up in the infirmary after they nearly won the race all the same.Just before they meet with Jon Hamm’s Sentinel Prime, an intercom can be heard calling for Ratchet. A classic member of the Autobots, Ratchet is a field medic who eventually transforms into an ambulance on Earth.

Ratchet was also a notable member of the Autobots in the live-actionTransformersmovies. However, the Autobot does meet a tragic death at the hands of Lockdownand the CIA as seen inAge of Extinction. While Ratchet isn’t seen on screen inTransformers One, it stands to reason that he might make an appearance inTransformers One’sconfirmed sequel.

9Ultra Magnus

A Loyal Soldier And Brother To Optimus Prime

Ultra Magnus was a bold commander of the Autobots, and was considered to be Optimus Prime’s battle-brother during the Autobots' war with the Decepticons. Believing himself to be nothing more than a loyal soldier, Magnus typically shies away from the burden of greater leadership. Seeing as howTransformers Oneends with battle lines being drawn between the newly formed Autobots and Decepticons,it would make sense if Ultra Magnus is perhaps being saved for a sequel when the war with the Decepticons begins in earnest.

8Grimlock & The Dinobots

Autobots With Attitude

One of the more challenging squads within the Autobots' ranks,The Dinobots take the form of prehistoric dinosaurs in priorTransformerscontinuities. In certain continuities, they even take the form of dinosaurs before the Autobots make it to Earth. Such was the case in the timeline of theWar for Cybertrongame franchise where the future Dinobots were experimented on by Decepticon Shockwave, having used dinosaurs as a model to turn Grimlock’s Lightning Strike Coalition Force into mindless monsters.

Transformers One Cast & Character Guide: What The Actors Look Like In Real Life

The animated Transformers movie Transformers One offers a promising cast voicing iconic Autobots, Decepticons and mythical figures of Cybertron.

Constantly challenging authority, the Dinobots are an effective yet unruly group often led by Grimlock, a bot said to rival the power of both Optimus Prime and Megatron. Essentially, Grimlock believes that Optimus Prime is weak and struggles to make the hard decisions that need to be made, no matter how compromising. As such, it would be very exciting to see this rogue group of Autobots debuting in aTransformers Onesequel, perhaps with Grimlock debuting as a rival within Prime’s own ranks.

7Constructicons

Combining Into Devastator

Collectively known as the Constructicons, this subgroup of Megatron’s forces is typically made up of Scrapper, Bonecrusher, Scavenger, Long Haul, Mixmaster, and Hook. However, there are sometimes even more Constructicons who are part of this team. Regardless, the true power of the Constructicons is their ability to combine and transform into the massive Devastator. While none of the often green and purple bots were seen inTransformers One, they’d certainly be an exciting way to up the ante once Megatron is ready to strike against Iacon.

The live-action Constructicons were also seen inTransformers:Revenge of the Fallen. Combining next to the pyramids of Giza, Devastator was truly one of the movie’s biggest spectacles. As such, one can imagine the same could happen in the confirmed sequel toTransformers One. Other members of the Constructicons include Gravedigger, Hauler, Erector, Hightower, Scoop, Buckethead, Quickmix, Wideload, Steam Hammer, and Skavenger, all of whom naturally take the form of some sort of construction vehicle once the Transformers arrive on Earth.

6Frenzy

A Servant Of Soundwave

InTransformersOne, Soundwave was featured as a key member of Iacon’s High Guard, the force that would eventually serve Megatron and become known as the Decepticons. That said,Soundwave does not transform into his classic stereo formin the animated movie. Likewise, his mini-cassette minions that typically eject out of his chest in the original series do not appear inTransformers Oneeither.

Every Autobot & Decepticon Who Appears In Transformers One

Ahead of its release date later this year, Transformers One confirms the return of familiar Autobots and Decepticons from the franchise.

While Soundwave often has several of these smaller agents in his employ, one of the most famous is Frenzy who had a significant role in the very first live-actionTransformersby director Michael Bay. Working closely with Barricade, Frenzy snuck aboard Air Force One and helps the Decepticons hack into the world’s various networks in search of Megatron. As such, perhaps Frenzy could make up for his absence inTransformers Onein the sequel.

5Lazerbeak

A Winged Agent Of Soundwave

Another mini-cassette minion of Soundwave’s,Lazerbeak is essentially a bird-like pet in theTransformersuniverse. Also missing fromTransformersOne, Lazerbeak would be another very exciting addition that could make Soundwave himself even more prominent in the sequel. Likewise, Lazerbeak made his live-action debut inTransfomers: Dark of the Moon, having been tasked by Soundwave with killing various humans who’d given aid to the Decepticons in the past.

4Ravage

Soundwave’s Four-Legged Spy

Ravage is another well-known mini-cassette minion of Soundwavenext to Frenzy and Lazerbeak (though Soundwave does have many more). Having the form of a panther,Ravage is extremely loyal to both Soundwave and Megatronand is a master of stealth. He also made his live-action debut inRevenge of the Fallen, having played a key role in resurrecting Megatron from his demise in the first film. With any luck, an appearance in the sequel could make up for his absence inTransformersOne.

3Omega Supreme

The Last Line Of Autobot Defense

One of the largest Autobots to ever exist,Omega Supreme was the last guardian bot tasked with protecting Cyberton’s Crystal City and Iacon. He served as the last line of defense when all other strategies had failed. Having played a prominent role in theWar for Cybertronvideo game series and continuity, some might have hoped to have seen the massive bot in this new prequel film. However, perhaps Omega Supreme will be featuredin the sequel toTransformers Onenow that the war between the Autobots and Decepticons has begun in earnest.

2Trypticon

A Massive Bot (Who Hates Both Sides)

Trypticon is another massive Transformer who’s capable of destroying entire cities. While Trypticon is a massive superweapon wielded by Megatron and the Decepticons, that doesn’t mean that he’s a loyal Decepticon himself. In truth, Trypticon’s primary function is to hate everything and everyone and relentlessly destroy his targets, and it’s simply the Decepticons who managed to control him.

As such, one can only imagine how impressive it would be to see Trypticon take on Omega Supreme in a full-feature movie. Now that the Decepticons are born followingTransformers One, perhaps it’s only a matter of time before Trypticon is found and tamed. It would certainly be quite a battle with the Autobots having to defend Iacon from such a gargantuan bot.

1Unicron

A God of Chaos

Essentially the villain of all Transformers villains,no one should have expected to have seen Unicron inTransformersOne,especially after the world-consuming god of chaos was just featured in the live-actionRise of the Beasts. However, it’s worth noting that Unicron is as old as Cyberton itself, having been created as the dark twin of Primus. As such, it would have been exciting to have seen some sort of reference or Easter egg in the animated movie.

To that end, Unicron likely won’t be making an appearance in this new continuity until much later, and perhaps not even in the confirmed sequel. That said, it’s not hard to imagine Unicron perhaps serving as the overarching villain in a potential third movie, perhaps transforming Megatron into Galvatronas he did in the original animatedTransformersmovie from 1986. Unicron could even be the reason why Optimus Prime and Megaton perhaps reunite as brothers in this new Transformers timeline (though that’s just conjecture).

Transformers One

Cast

Transformers One is an animated action-adventure movie that marks the first animated feature-length film for the series in decades. The film will be a prequel to the franchise, and will tell the story of Optimus Prime and Megatron in their early years, how they met, and a closer look at the war on their home planet, Cybertron.
