Now thatKraven the Hunterhas hit theaters, Aaron Taylor-Johnson has addressed the possibility of reappearing in a future crossover movie withinSony’s Spider-Man Universe. Kraven the Hunter is one of the foremost figures in Spider-Man’s iconic rogues' gallery and the latest to be given a live-action origin story by Sony inKraven the Hunter.Sony’s Spider-Man moviesare ostensibly interconnected, teasing the notion that Venom, Morbius, Madame Web and Kraven will at some point band together and finally star opposite the web-slinger himself.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson remains hopeful that this is a possibility, stating in an interview withCinePOPthathe would love to star alongside other villains in a Sinister Six adaption. This team-up was first teased intheMorbiuspost-credits sceneas the MCU’s Adrian Toomes/Vulture approaches Morbius and suggests a team-up. Taylor-Johnson also reiterates his long-held desire to adapt the “Kraven’s Last Hunt” comic, which depicts Kraven overcoming and taking the place of his arch-rival, Spider-Man. “I would also love the idea of doing Sinister Six. I think Kraven’s Last Hunt was a brilliant comic book. And if we had the opportunity to bring it to the screen, it would be amazing. That would be me, as a fan, excited about something cool. But, you know… That’s all really cool, but go watch this movie."

What Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Comments Mean For Kraven The Hunter & A Sinister Six Crossover Movie

Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Desires May Have Already Been Stifled By Sony

Sony has geared up for a Sinister Six adaptationseveral times in Spider-Man’s live-action history, though the project has repeatedly failed to get off the ground. Given Kraven is the only character in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe who was an original member of the team in Marvel Comics, Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s widely shared desire to adapt the villainous team should be a good sign as it follows up the more overt set-up inMorbius. Unfortunately, recent developments suggest that this may once again be a pipe dream for the foreseeable future.

Five of the original Sinister Six have now appeared in the MCU, including Doctor Octopus, Mysterio, Sandman, Electro, and Vulture, while Kraven the Hunter’s silhouette could be seen standing in an alternate universe inSpider-Man: No Way Home.

A recent report byThe Wraphas confirmed thatSony is putting a hold on its live-action Spider-Man spinoff movies following early criticisms ofKraven the Hunter. WithMorbiussuffering critically and financially and Venom now at the end of his cinematic journey, things are not looking good for Taylor-Johnson’s Sinister Six bid. A surprise victory at the box office could help to alter this course and even openthe possibility ofKraven the Hunter 2- though without a significant shake-up, this is unlikely.
