Fate starts to catch up with Nick and Eve inBad Monkeyepisode 9, “You Really Don’t Want to Kill This Scrumptious Little Puppy”. Vince Vaughn leads the ensemblecast ofBad Monkeywhich also features Michelle Monaghan, Scott Glenn, and Rob Delaney. Following the events ofBad Monkeyepisode 8, the penultimate episode ofBad Monkeyseason 1 brings Yancy and Rosa to Andros where they have befriended Neville and Claspers, Nick and Eve’s pilot. After their plan to trick Nick and Eve into flying back to Miami fails, bothYancy and Rosa are nearly killed trying to escape Nick and Eve’s wrath, while Gracie embraces her magic.

The Dragon Queen’s Chilling Message to Eve Explained
She reclaims Andros for its native people and gods
Gracie appears to have broken bad during the later episodes ofBad Monkeyafter becoming an accomplice of Nick, Eve, and their loyal henchman Egg. She successfully steals Nick’s expensive watch in episode 8 and is ready to escape Andros for good with her small fortune when she is thwarted by Ya-Ya’s words of wisdom, telling her that the island won’t let Gracie leave.Gracie is as conflicted as ever when Neville and Yancy encounter her at a local bar on Andros, deciding to have a change of heart by telling Yancy that Rosa is in danger. Yancy and Neville spring to action, leaving Gracie to reconcile with her decisions over a cold drink.
After a spiritual encounter with a mysterious stranger at the bar, Gracie rebuilds her shine at Ya-Ya’s house as her belief in her magical abilities is reinvigorated. Gracie becomes the Dragon Queen once again as she defies Eve’s orders to help her dying husband Nick and gives Eve a taste of her own medicine, slicing her chin with a knife. She proclaims that Nick is helpless and that all who have sold their souls are doomed as an intense storm brews around her in the dead of night.She tells Eve that she will put an end to her and Nick’s plan to build their resort on her native lands, saying that the Orishas, or gods, will not allow them to carry on.
Why Yancy Didn’t Leave Andros With Rosa
Yancy still has unfinished business on Andros
Just as Rosa works up the courage to reveal that she’s falling for Yancy, he shoots himself in the foot by staying on Andros to make sure Nick and Eve are stopped once and for all. Rosa gives him an ultimatum as Claspers waits to fly them back to Florida in the final moments ofBad Monkeyepisode 9, telling Yancy thathe needs to get on the plane with her or else they are done. It’s a tough position that sparked out of Rosa’s care for Yancy and fear that he could get killed but Yancy is unable to simply walk away from this when he is closer than ever to taking Nick and Eve down. Rosa flies away into the storm as Yancy watches from the shore.
Who Is The Stranger That Befriends Gracie?
Gracie receives a spiritual visit from her mother
Gracie feels an energetic pull from a mysterious woman at the bar who she doesn’t seem to recognize. She follows her to the graveyard where her mother is buried only to discover that she had been talking to her mother the entire time. Gracie’s mother, Nacheline Swan, never really knew Gracie, which is why Gracie doesn’t recognize her at first. Nacheline died when Gracie was just a child and Gracie was raised by Ya-Ya as a result.The spiritual encounter inspires Gracie to believe in her magical abilities and, more importantly, herself, which leads to Gracie assuming her role as the Dragon Queen with more vigor than ever.
Did Rosa Mean To Shoot Egg When She Escaped?
She told Yancy that it was completely intentional
It’s clear that Egg is only motivated by money, although through his relationship with Gracie, he is revealed to have a soft side underneath his rough exterior. He allows Rosa to grab a snack from her purse while he lackadaisically holds her in captivity while Nick and Eve lure Yancy into their home. Rosa pulls out the same gun that Neville had pulled on Egg but never fired in an earlier episode. Rosa is planning to leave without shooting Egg when she accidentally fires a bullet right into his left leg, ensuring her escape. Rosa claims that she meant to shoot Egg in the leg butYancy calls her bluff and knows it was unintentional but lucky.
How Bonnie Got Out Of Federal Prison
She seduced a prison guard into helping her escape
Bonnie continues to be on her own planet inBad Monkeyepisode 9 as she is told she could face up to 8 years behind bars for arson. Somehow, Bonnie is able to convince one of the corrections officers at her federal prison to help her escape and drive her off in a very noticeable getaway car. While Bonnie’s story at this point is completely off the rails and virtually unrealistic, her wild plot developments certainly align with her unpredictable character.There’s no saying where Bonnie will end up inBad Monkey’sseason finalebut she will likely attempt to find Yancy again like she does every time she needs to escape and could end up playing an unsuspecting role.
Ya-Ya is the only one who seems to know everyone’s fate
Bad Monkeyepisode 9 has set the table for a chaotic season finale, which will be released on July 16, 2025. Since Yancy stayed on Andros, he, Neville, and the Dragon Queen will likely do everything in their power to expose Nick and Eve, although the storm will probably keep them on Andros.Rosa may convince Rogelio and even Sheriff Sonny to intervene back in the Florida Keys, while supporting characters like Caitlin, Mel, and Madeline may turn up to do their part in bringing Nick and Eve to justice.
With Eve seriously threatened and Nick seriously injured,the Bonnie & Clyde couple appear to be at their weakest point, setting up their imminent downfall. The only one who seems to know what will happen in Ya-Ya, who has wisely kept her distance from everything unless it involved Gracie. Since the series is namedBad Monkey, there’s also a solid chance that Driggs could play an unexpected yet crucial part in the season finale.
