First seen in 2014’sBatman and Robin #33, by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason, the Hellbat armor was designed as a joint effort between Batman andthe rest of the Justice Leagueto help the only person among their ranks without superpowers be able to take on Darkseid-level threats. Using it to travel to Apokolips to retrieve the body of his dead son, Damian aka Robin, Batman’s Hellbat suit sports an appropriately terrifying red and black design, and utilizes an array of offensive and defensive techniques powered by the user’s metabolism — a dangerous cost for anyone wearing it.
