Six secret areas can be found inBlack Myth: Wukongas you explore different Chapters, but you have to complete different tasks to enter these hidden locations. One of the game’s endings is tied to the discovery of every secret zone, so you’ll want to find each one at some point. New NPCs, bosses, and gear can also be found in these spaces, making them important spots to visit.

The completion of secret areas can be tracked in another place calledThe Great Pagoda inBlack Myth: Wukong. This cave in Chapter 3 has various murals depicting The Destined One’s adventures, specifically those against enemies in secret regions of the game. As you find each of the six primary hidden zones, you will get closer and closer to revealing a new NPC to talk to in The Great Pagoda.

Chapter 1 - The Ancient Guanyin Temple

Ring Every Bell

TheAncient Guanyin Templeis the first secret area you’re able to find in Chapter 1, but only when youring three bells in the Forest of the Wolves and Bamboo Grove. Travel to a Keeper’s Shrine in these regions to get started. It is best to start searching for the clues behind the Temple once you have already cleared most of the bosses in this zone, so try to only do this once you’ve unlocked Chapter 2 already.

Where To Find

Bell #1

Right behind the boss arena of the optional enemyGuangzhi inBlack Myth: Wukongwithin the Forest of the Wolves.

Bell #2

In the small temple on the path directly forward from the Guangmou boss arena on Snake Trail in the Bamboo Grove.

Bell #3

Directly in the marshes behind the White Clad Noble boss arena in the Marsh of the White Mist found in the Bamboo Grove area.

Ringing the last bell, in whatever order you choose, willautomatically teleport you to The Ancient Guanyin Templesecret area. Doing this will put you in a very small region with a sudden boss fight againstElder Jinchi inBlack Myth: Wukong, a sage similar to other optional enemies you may have seen during this Chapter.

Defeat Elder Jinchi for some rare rewards, including theFireproof Mantle, your first vessel that gives you burn resistance and other properties to make you stronger.

Chapter 2 - Kingdom Of Sahali

Help Out The Local Boar

In Chapter 2, theKingdom of Sahaliis the hidden area of the level, which can only be accessed when youhelp out the boar-man NPClocated in the area. You can find this characternear the Rockrest Flat location, in the larger Fright Cliff area. Use a Keeper’s Shrine you have unlocked to get as close to this character’s resting place, then visit them to ask about what they need.

The boar will want you tofind theSobering Stoneitemfor him near the Yellow Wind Formation and close to the Windrest Bridge Shrine. This object can be found inside a jar you can smash across the bridge, inside one of the buildings in this location. Once you have the Stone, return to the boar and give it to him to break the character out of his drunken stupor.

Before you continue the steps for Chapter 2’s secret area, make sure you have defeated the First Prince of Flowing Sands boss in the Valley of Despair seen during this part of the story.

You can now travel to the Crouching Tiger Temple Entrance Keeper’s Shrine to meet the boar again, where he will ask youto hand over a Jade Lotus item. This basic resource can be found practically anywhere, making it easy to fulfill this request.Exhaust the boar’s dialogue, thengo back to where you first met the character.

Every Missable Boss Fight In Black Myth: Wukong & What Triggers It

Black Myth: Wukong has a lot of optional boss fights, some of which, and their rewards, are missable if players don’t follow the right steps.

A new boss named the Yellow-Robed Squire can be found where the boar once was back at the Fright Cliffs. This enemy is the brother of the boar and an enemy you have to defeat to gain access to the secret area. Once you beat the Squire, he will declare you worthy of exploring the Kingdom of Sahali and disappear behind a massive stone door you can now go through to enter the hidden region.

Chapter 3 - Ruyi Scroll

Craft Special Medicine For Someone Who Needs It

The hidden realm inside a magical Ruyi Scroll can only be obtained when youdefeat the optional boss Chen Loong in Chapter 3. This foe can be found at Bitter Lake, a location with plenty of Keeper’s Shrines you can use to fast travel there. Try to go to the North Shore of the Lake, as this place is the closest to the boss, who wanders around the shallow waters.

Not to be mistaken for Red Loong orYellow Loong inBlack Myth: Wukong, Chen Loong is not too hard to take down. Upon their defeat, Chen Loong laments about their condition, saying their days are numbered unless they can find a special remedy from someone named Xu Dog.

For the intents and purposes of this article, the secret arenas where you fight Loong bosses are not extensive enough to be included among the larger hidden locations designed to be explored thoroughly.

Xu Dog helps youcraft medicine inBlack Myth: Wukong, helping you gain temporary buffs or permanent stat boosts down the line. Talk to Xu Dog in the Cellar of the Crouching Tiger Temple to get him to make theSpecial-made Bone-Strengthening Pelletkey item that can cure Chen Loong’s affliction.Take the special medicine back to Chen Loongto receive his gratitude and an important item.

Chen Loonggives you the Ruyi Scroll, which can be inspected to transport you to Chapter 3’s secret area. Unlike the other hidden zones, this place acts like a secondary hub world, without any bosses for you to fight. Chen Loong and Xu Dog will both remain here, offering you different aid in the future for your efforts in helping both of them.

Chapter 4 - Purple Wind Mountain

Defeat The Same Boss Twice

ThePurple Wind Mountainsecret area in Chapter 4 can be unlocked when youdefeat the Venom Daoist boss twicein different areas. You can encounter this boss for the first time in The Webbed Hollow, an excellentlocation for farming Rice Cocoonsand other items. Travel to the Pool of Shattered Jade Keeper’s Shrine andattack the Old Cocconto start a cutscene where the Daoist appears to fight.

The second time you fight the Venom Daoist will beat the Temple of Yellow Flowers, near the Court of Illumination Shrine. Follow the path past the gates of this temple and go up the stairs to eventually reach another boss arena. Defeat the Daoist once and for all to reveal a mural on a wall in the boss arena, which you can interact with to enter the secret area.

Chapter 5 - Bishui Cave

Overcome Challenges Another Could Not

Similar to other secret areas, theBishui Cavecan only be unlocked when you defeat a boss. This time, youhave to beat the Pale-Axe Stalwartin the Woods of Ember area, near the Ashen Pass I Keeper’s Shrine you access early in this Chapter. This enemy can be seen fighting other creatures in this location and looks like a minotaur wielding a huge axe alongside similar warrior allies.

Youonly need to drop the Stalwart’s health to around 30%before the boss goes down to one knee in surrender.Talk to this characterandexhaust his dialoguein the same way you did with the boar inBlack Myth: Wukong’s second Chapter. Then, rest at the same Ashen Pass Keeper’s Shrine to reset the character’s position.

Every Buddha Eyeball Location In Black Myth: Wukong

Chapter 2 of Black Myth: Wukong involves collecting six Buddha Eyeballs around Fright Cliff to unlock a secret boss and collect a useful Key Item.

The Stalwart is found again along the main path of the Ashen Pass, overlooking a cliff reaching out into the soot-covered valley below. Exhaust this creature’s dialogue again to reveal how he wants to take down two major enemies in the area. One of these foes is theCrimson-Silver Cart, an optional boss within the larger Ashen Pass you can encounter and defeat for yourself.

The Crimson-Silver Cart can be fought in the Field of Fire region, a place near the Ashen Pass III Keeper’s Shrine.

Reset yourself at a Keeper’s Shrine when you beat the Crimson-Silver Cart, then travel back to the boss' location to find the Stalwart again. The Stalwart may not spawn here, as the character may stay in the area where you found them a second time near the Ashen Pass I Shrine. Whatever the case,exhaust the character’s dialogue a third timeto change his position in the region once more.

The last time you encounter the Stalwart will be in the Field of Fire again, but this time near the Fallen Furnace Crater Keeper’s Shrine. Follow the main path toward the Cooling Slope Shrine, where you may see a huge gate guarded by the Rusty-Gold Cart boss. Approaching this area shows the Stalwart fighting against the Cart and losing, so your goal here should be tohelp the Stalwart beat the boss.

As you can see in the above video by YouTube creatorWoW Quests, you may have to complete the questline of Horse Guai Ma Tianba and defeat the Brown-Iron Cart and Gray-Bronze Cart bosses to get the Stalwart to change locations.

Once you take down the Rusy-Gold Cart, the Stalwart will die, but reveal the hidden path ahead past the gate. Simplyinteract with the gate after the boss' defeatto teleport into the hidden Bishui Cave area inBlack Myth: Wukong.

Chapter 3 - Mount Mei

Unlock The Final Path To The Secret Ending

Mount Meiis the last secret area in the game, but you canonly access this place once all other secret locations have been discovered. Once everything has been explored and every secret area boss has been defeated,speak to the Treasure Hunter NPCback in Chapter 3. This character is found in Bitter Lake like Chen Loong, only a short distance from where you first encountered the dragon man.

The Hunter is in the region past the red temple, where you save him from being eaten by some malicious tree spirits. As you can expect, you need toexhaust the dialogue with this characterto cause them to move elsewhere.Go to the Valley of Ecstasy areaand the Forest of Felicity Keeper’s Shrine to encounter the Treasure Hunter again, this time sitting on some rocks near one of the area’s paths.

The Treasure Hunter will be sitting right next to theTowers of Karma Keeper’s Shrineif you want to find him more conveniently from exploring the Valley of Ecstasy already.

The Treasure Hunter needs tobe warmed up using theRing of FirespellinBlack Myth: Wukong, so make sure you have this particular magic. A short cutscene will play when you help the NPC out, where you need to exhaust his dialogue a second time. From here,head toward the Melon Fieldfrom the right of the main path seen in the Forest of Felicity Shrine.

All Black Myth: Wukong Spells, Ranked

Some spell options in Black Myth: Wukong are absolute essentials for combat mastery, while others are fun but remain fairly easy to live without.

Go down the snowy slopes here, then take a left and head across the small clear pond in this area. Drop into the caves below to find the Melon Field, where you will be challenged by the Treasure Hunter in a boss battle. This foe, actually called the Green-capped Martialist, will be a challenge to defeat if you aren’t prepared to use powerful gear, spells, and transformations during the fight.

Defeating the Green-capped Martialist will reveal another mysterious NPC, who leaves a cryptic message about the Destined One’s future. Once every secret area has been found and completed, you canreturn to The Great Pagoda areato find this character again. This person will open a path forward to Mount Mei, which leads to the final location tied to the secret ending ofBlack Myth: Wukongonce you enter it.
