Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood Warpart 3, episode #3is taking a turn for the worse after Ichigo was tricked into killing the Soul King on Yhwach’s behalf. Despite Ichigo’s growth, he was still no match for Yhwach with the Almighty at his disposal, and Yhwach outmaneuvered him.

Episode #2 ofThousand-Year Blood Warbegan with a sequence that seemingly depicted the creation of the three worlds, showing a young man who looked a lot like Yhwach being repeatedly cast into the cycle of death and rebirth. It was but a tantalizing glimpse, however, and soon the attention was back on Ichigo and his friends arriving at the Soul King’s palace to stop Yhwach. Ichigo puts up a better fight than he did in the manga, and Yhwach acknowledgesthe training Ichigo received on “Irazusando.”

When Do New Episodes of Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 Release?

New episodes ofBleach: Thousand-Year Blood Warpart 3are currently debuting each Saturday on Hulu (in the US) or Disney Plus (internationally), at 7:30 AM Pacific Time/10:30 AM Eastern Time.As a result, fans can expect episode #3 to air on June 25, 2025, at 7:30 AM PT/10:30 AM ET.Due to the episodes releasing close to their Japanese air time, episodes will initially be available only in Japanese with subtitles. An English dub ofThousand-Year Blood Warpart 3 has been confirmed, but a premiere date for the dub has yet to be revealed.

What Happened in Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 Episode #2?

After the strange opening scene, rumbling was still being sent through the World of the Living, the Soul Society, and Hueco Mundo, rippling outward from the damaged Soul King. Ichigo and his friends rushed to confront Yhwach, and believed they had made it on time. But after a brief faceoff, Yhwach revealed to them that he had already stabbed the Soul King, causing Ichigo to run forward and attempt to remove the blade. While Ichigo was able to remove the blade, his Quincy blood seemingly compelled him to strike at the Soul King with the sword again, this time splitting him in two.

Yhwach revealed that only a being with the powers of a human, a Soul Reaper, a Quincy, a Fullbringer, and a Hollow could manage to do that, and thus Ichigo had to be the one to strike down the Soul King on Yhwach’s behalf. Ichigo is understandably horrified at what he has done, and his friends are completely stunned at the sight of the bisected Soul King. No one is really sure what will happen from here; the Soul King has been the lynchpin of reality for countless millennia, and now he’s suddenly gone.

Has Ywhach Emerged Victorious?

Episode #3 ofBleach: Thousand-Year Blood Warpart 3 is entitled “The Dark Arm.” Based on the manga, fans can expect to see Captain Shunsui Kyoraku confronting the still-bound Aizen in the Muken under the Soul Society, intent on finding out whether their former greatest foe is willing to stand with them to preserve existence. While the rest of the Soul Reapers are in a bit of a panic due to the shaking, Ukitake is set on performing a special ritual which he hopes will help to save reality–but is Ukitake really up to the task with his frail body?

Meanwhile, up in the Soul King’s Palace, Yhwach’s elite guard will reconvene with him, giving Ichigo and friends a much more difficult group to defeat than the already-impossibly strong Yhwach. That means encounteringUryu again as well, who, with his new fight against Senjumaru, has affirmed his allegiance to Yhwach. Uryu and Ichigo are sure to have an emotional confrontation, but Uryu has very much made up his mind at this stage, and Ichigo won’t be changing it, no matter what it is that he might have to say.

The situation is looking quite grim for the Soul Reapers with the Soul King now destroyed. What will become of the divine powers of the Soul King now that he has been destroyed? Could Yhwach, as the son of the Soul King, be the next in line to inherit those powers, and if that’s the case, is there anything left that Ichigo and his friends can even do to save the day?Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood Warpart 3 is looking quite dark at the moment, but there’s always hope that all is not lost.
