Episode #6 ofThousand-Year Blood Warfeatured a number of returning characters making their first true appearances, including Nel, Grimmjow, and Yukio and Riruka, two of the Fullbringersthat Ichigo once knew. Nel is now in her adult form, thanks to a device invented by Urahara which allows her to change form at will. While this probably isn’t the kind of backup that Ichigo was expecting, Nel and Grimmjow are both powerful fighters in their own right, and this isn’t a time to be picky about one’s allies. Yhwach has ultimate power now, so the heroes need every bit of help they can get.

Reinforcements Arrive for Ichigo and Friends

Episode #6 ofThousand-Year Blood Warpart 3 saw Yoruichi call upon some unexpected allies: both the Arrancar, in the form of Nel and Grimmjow, and the Fullbringers, in the form of Riruka and Yukio. While Riruka and Yukio aren’t here to fight, they did provide some extremely valuable assistance by helping Ichigo’s group get around discreetly. Grimmjow, on the other hand, is a bit too eager to fight, and could barely contain himself upon seeing Ichigo again. Still, Grimmjow understands that they have bigger problems right now that must be dealt with, and manages to hold back.

The Soul Reapers managed to open a portalto the Soul King’s Palace, only to be horrified upon arrival at the fact that the Soul King’s Palaces has been reshaped into a massive flying Quincy city. Still, they were able to get there, and are now able to join the fight against Yhwach’s elite, rather than leaving the task to Ichigo’s group alone. Rendezvousing with Ichigo’s group may be impossible for now, but simply being there will help redirect some heat away from them. The defected Quincy have also arrived, ready to get revenge on Yhwach for discarding them.

Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3, Episode #7 Heads to the Gate of the Sun

The Quincy and Soul Reapers Clash Once More

Episode #7 ofThousand-Year Blood Warpart 3 is entitled “Gate of the Sun,” which happens to be the title of chapter 629 in the manga. Based on the manga, fans can expect that the Soul Reapers will begin to run into Yhwach’s elite forces, sparking new battles with the strongest Quincy. Ichigo’s group will be up first, encountering Askin Nakk Le Vaar, who’ll be less than thrilled to find them again.

The Quincy defectors will also be coming up in combat soon, as Bazz-B will encounter Haschwalth not long after arriving in this new Quincy citythat Yhwach has built. Bazz-B has a particular bone to pick with Haschwalth, and depending on how far the episode adapts, fans could see some flashbacks to what Bazz-B and Haschwalth were like when they were kids, and how they ended up in the Wandenreich to begin with. Despite their shared past, however, the only thing that exists between Bazz-B and Haschwalth now is animosity, and it can only end with one of their deaths.

Bleach’s Soul Reapers stare at the changed landscape around them.

The situation is still looking extremely dire for the Soul Reapers, but at least now they’re in position to actually strike back against their foes. It’s going to take a heavy dose of luck and all the strength they can muster, but at least the Soul Reapers have a fighting chance inBleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.
