Warning! Spoilers for Absolute Power #3!DC Comicshas some of the most recognizable comic book heroes in the world, and the publisher is constantly looking to add more to its roster. One of the most interesting heroes that DC has recently introduced isRana Dorada, and his eye-catching costume is already becoming a fan favorite.
Amanda Waller nearly has the world in the palm of her hand as she continues to strive for “absolute power” over the DC Universe. While all the iconic heroes of the world have been fighting against her, there has been asurprising group of new heroes who have joined the resistanceinAbsolute Power#3 by Mark Waid, Dan Mora, Alejandro Sánchez, and Ariana Maher.
One of these new heroes seems to beDC’s very own version of Spider-Man, asRana Dorada leaps onto the scene and helps the heroes fight off one of Amanda Waller’s many Amazo bots. Very little is currently known about Rana Dorada, but there’s no doubt fans will be seeing a lot more of him after his first real debut in this issue.
Rana Dorada Is DC’s Newest Vigilante

This issue isn’t the first time that fans have seen Rana Dorada, as he first appeared inBatman / Superman: World’s Finest#22 by Waid and Mora. When Gog had the entirety of Earth-22 under his command, Rana Dorada was one of the many heroes who went afterBatman and Supermanon Gog’s orders. Readers didn’t get to see much of his abilities then, and unfortunately, they still don’t get to see that many now. All that’s known is thatRana Dorada is remarkably acrobatic, but his name might hold a few more clues to his abilities.
While there’s no concrete info on this new hero, the design is certainly enough to make readers interested.
Rana Dorada roughly translates to “Golden Frog” in English, and the Panamanian golden frog is renowned for its poisonous skin. While there hasn’t been any evidence of this so far, Rana Dorada may have powers over poison or be an expert chemist who uses his abilities to take his enemies down. After all, a paralytic poison would be an amazing way to take criminals down with ease. But considering Rana Dorada only brieflywent up against Batman and Superman - and is currently fighting androids -it’s difficult to tell if he has powers over poison or if he is just acrobatic.

There simply isn’t enough information to draw any real conclusions about Rana Dorada right now. Aside from the fact that his costume is incredibly cool and reminiscent of Spider-Man, he also hangs out with a werewolf that seems to be perpetually on fire. While there’s no concrete info on this new hero, the design is certainly enough to make readers interested. Hopefully, asDC’sAbsolute Powereventwinds down, readers will get better acquainted withDC Comics’coolest new hero,Rana Dorado.
