Warning: This article contains spoilers for Superman & Lois season 4, episode 1 & 2.Superman & Loisseason 4 has been released, and the first two episodes of theDCseries make its version of Superboy closer to Batman than the Man of Steel due to one tactic. The original plan for the Superman series was for it to run at least seven seasons, but due to changes at The CW,Superman & Lois' network, and DC, the hit show was canceled.Superman & Loisseason 4’s casthas suffered many cuts due to budget changes.

With a shorter cast of series regulars,Superman & Loishas focused more on a select few in each of its first two episodes. That, and thedeath of Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman, have led to the DC show shining a spotlight on Clark Kent’s sons. Being the only one of the two to have powers,Alex Garfin’s Jordan Kent gets a lot to do in season 4. With his father dead and having to race against time to try and save his heart, Jordan acts very Batman-like.

Superman & Lois Season 4 Gives Superboy Batman’s Interrogation Technique

Only two episodes ofSuperman & Loisseason 4 have been released so far, but in both of them, Jordan Kent can be seen making use of the intimidation technique that Batman is known for when he interrogates someone. Trying to strike out as a hero in his father’s absence, the DC show’s Superboy interrogates villains by lifting them off the ground and pinning them against walls.Jordan notably uses that technique when confronting Michael Cudlitz’s Lex Luthor, though the villain turns the situation around with just words rather easily.

Superman & Lois Season 4 Review: DC Series Is Anchored By Emotion As It Preps For An Explosive Finale

Superman & Lois season 4 is a worthy follow-up to an emotional season 3, with an epic story for Tyler Hoechlin’s last time as DC’s Man of Steel.

Jordan’s interrogation tactic is muchmore a Batman method than something Superman would do. DC’s Dark Knight is known for taking it to the rooftops and alleys of Gotham City to instill fear into criminals. Batman uses many intimidation tactics in order to break his foes and get what he needs, and Jordan Kent tries to scare criminals in a similar way inSuperman & Lois. Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman does not act in such a way, being a lighter kind of hero than his son.

Why Superman & Lois Season 4’s Superboy Story Is Right To Make Him More Like Batman In Some Ways

Jordan Kent Is His Own Person

Superman & Loisseason 4 is quite dark. With Clark Kent dead and his heart, which could save him, being in Lex Luthor’s possession, Jordan’s anger and desire to save his dad is understandable. The show making its Superboy similar to Batman in his interrogation technique is an extension of that, asJordan’s impulsiveness meshed with his anger, and the result is the rough way he treats criminals. It also helps highlight how different Clark and Jordan are, cementing that the world ofSuperman & Loiswill be very different with Superboy as its hero instead of Superman.

Superman & Lois

Based on the characters from DC Comics, Superman & Lois follows Clark Kent and Lois Lane, attempting to live a quiet life in Smallville with their twin sons Jonathan and Jordan. Unfortunately for the couple, their lives continue to be effected by Clark’s superhero identity and powers. Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch star as Clark and Lois, with Jordan Elsass and Alex Garfin portraying the couple’s sons.
