The two characters share a long history in DC’s mainstream continuity, having fallen in love on Apokolips despite their differing personalities. Hence, this Elseworlds tale remains true to their canonical relationship. As the flashback continues,Mister Miracle expresses concerns about being intimate with Big Barda, given that he has already been turned into a vampire.
Thanks to his New God status, the vampire transformation hasn’t completely altered Mister Miracle’s personality, sparing him from becoming a crazed and evil bloodsucker like many of DC’s other heroes. Nevertheless, he still fears losing control in the heat of the moment. However, Barda reassures him that she isn’t worried. Their coupling then takes place, and during the climax, the art reveals that Barda is also a vampire—her fangs emerge, and her eyes turn red.This scene not only confirms the full parentage of Mister Miracle’s daughter but also implies that the baby is a New God-vampire hybrid.

Of course, there is the obvious reason: this child is one of a kind,having been born a vampire rather than turned, and she is also a New God, implying she is exceptionally powerful.However, there also seems to be a spreading prophecy about the child that has made her of particular interest to the vampire side of the war.
In a conversation betweenJohn Constantine and Black Canary, it is revealed that the vampires believe the child represents the next evolution of their species. Hence, understanding how she came to be will allow them to replicate the results. There is also a prophecy spreading that the child is the key to bringing peace between humans and vampires.However, there is a counter prophecy suggesting the child is an omen that signals the end of the world. All of this, of course, doesn’t even take into account the immense power the child may wield due to her vampiric New God status.

Meanwhile, humans are just learning of the child and remain uncertain of her existence, though their interest is piqued. It will be intriguing to see which side gets their hands onMister Miracle’sdaughter first, as it’s only a matter of time before someone does.
