Summary

Destromay have just met his match in theEnergon Universe, as the mysterious Chameleon takes the famedG.I. Joevillain in her sights. It couldn’t have come at a worse time for the arms dealer, as Destro has only just allied himself with Cobra Commander before he finds himself at war with his rivals, the Crimson Twins, for control of the world arms market.

Destro encounters the Chameleon in the previewSkybound Entertainmenthas released forDestro#3 by Dan Watters, Andrea Milana, Adriano Lucas and Rus Wooton. The previous issue ended withDestro retreating to his castle in the Scottish Highlands, only to be followed by a mysterious hi-tech assassin with a huge sniper rifle.

The preview forDestro#3 showcases howChameleon will prove to be a challenge for the title character, as the assassin is able to disable Destro’s weapon systems and actually shoot the Scottish laird down. Destro takes a bullet as a result, meaning that the first round of their titanic tussle goes to Chameleon.

Destro Takes on Chameleon in a Hi-Tech Battle of Wits

The issue promises to be a tense battle between two skilled opponents with state-of-the-art weaponry at their disposal.Readers have already been exposed to the secret war breaking out betweenDestro’s M.A.R.S. Industries and Tomax and Xamot’s Extensive Enterprises.Destro#2 ended with both parties agreeing to keep collateral damage to a minimum by keeping their war more “personal.” Now, the Crimson Twins have fired the opening shot by sending the Chameleon to take out Destro at his remote castle in the Scottish Highlands.

Seeing Chameleon immediately disable Destro’s wrist rockets is an intriguing twist, and considering the solicitations for the issue tease that the Scottish Laird will be without weapons in the snowy landscape, fans could be in for an epic battle of wits. While little is known about the new Chameleon, thecover of November’sG.I. Joe#1shows her unmasked, and standing with the rest of the forces of Cobra alongside Destro and the Crimson Twins.However things play out in the pages ofDestro, it will be exciting to see how these warring factions come together underneath the banner of Cobra.
