Dichen Lachman as Gemma and Robby Benson as Dr. Mauer in Severance season 2

This is best seen in the way that the overarching evil corporation at the heart of the show operates.Lumon Industries has a firm grip on the worldwith its monopolization of various markets including medical resources. However, the company is guarding secrets from the world that it determines are so precious and vital, that it requires an operation like severance to protect them. Drummond & Graner’s Deaths In Severance Prove That Lumon Has Terrible Security & Enforcers

Lumon Needs To Improve Their Security Budget To Avoid Slip-Ups In Severance Season 3

Lumon appears to be a widespread company that owns several corners of the market in various industries. However, despite their size and influence, Lumon appears to slack majorly when it comes to guarding their secrets beyond severing employees' minds. True, the cult of Lumon does do a lot of the groundwork in keeping the employees subdued, but as seen from the rebellion of Mark S., Helly R., and others,Lumon is not prepared to defend its own interestsbeyond sending a single guard who appears to have no real experience keeping things secure.

Graner was the head of security in season 1, and while he was able to intimidate the severed employees, he was swiftly killed by Reghabi in the first real conflict he appeared to have. Likewise, Drummond stepped up toenforce Lumon interests inSeveranceseason 2, but as of the finale, he was quickly overpowered by two Innies, before being killed when Mark’s transition in the elevator caused him to accidentally pull a trigger and kill the man. It appears that besides size and brute strength, neither man had any competence for fighting and subduing threats.

Drummond’s Death Might Finally Make Lumon Enhance Their Personnel’s Training In Severance Season 3

Severance Season 3 Will See A Very Different Side To Lumon

The thing is, Lumon operates like a cult, and they evidently don’t feel a need to employ more security than one sole guard on the entire severed floor. This is likely because they keep the Innies apart, and largely unaware of their surroundings, but over the course ofSeveranceseasons 1 and 2, glaring holes in their security have been exploited, and Lumon’s only line of defense falls at the first hurdle. In order to avoid any more incidents, and to keep the Innies in control,Lumon will need to drastically improve their security efforts.

Why Lumon Wanted To Kill Gemma After Cold Harbor In Severance

Severance season 2 makes it evident that Lumon wanted to kill Gemma after Cold Harbor, making it hard not to wonder why they would not let her live.

The least that they could do is provide more training to their security staff on how to defend against attacks, how to subdue an opponent, and ensure areas that are off limits are more secure. If Lumon has so much wealth, then surely it can afford to add another security guard to actually watch the cameras and monitors installed to keep the severed floor secure. But up to this point, it appears that it has been running on the principle of having the employees believe they are always being watched in hopes of deterring disobedience.Severanceseason 2 proved why that won’t work for Lumonany longer.
