Xbox Game Studios has revealed thatFablehas been delayed from its original 2025 release window to 2026.Fableis a wildly successful franchise, and the upcoming remake of the title has been closely followed by fans as it was supposed to make its debut this year. Fable Release Window Gets Pushed Back To 2026

But Big Things Are In The Works For Fable Fans

The host of the podcast,Tina Amini, asks Duncan where they are at withFable,to which Duncan replies,

“I just want to start with really excited, really excited about progress, really excited where Playground are. We previously announced the date for Fable as 2025, we are actually going to give Fable more time and it’s going to ship in 2026 now. While I know that’s not maybe the news people want to hear, what I want to assure people of is that it’s definitely worth the wait.”

Duncan goes on to state that they have “unequivocal confidence” in the Playground team, as they have created a few of the most well-known and successful games, including theForza Horizonseries. As Duncan states,this is not the newsFablefans had hoped to hear, but giving us a new look at the gameplayis definitely a positive within this negative, even if it is only around 50 seconds long.

The reboot of the fantasy action RPG by Playground Games was announced back in 2020, with a new trailer surfacing in 2023 during the Xbox Game Showcase. It was revealed that thedevelopment process ofFablehas not been the easiest for the developers either, due to their lack of experience in the creation of RPGs.
