The Nightshift Mythic Vault is a new activity introduced in Season 1 of Chapter 6 inFortnite. It’s a secluded treasure trove full of all kinds of goodies, and a worthwhilecollectible in almost anyFortnitematch. Mythic Vaults typically contain any number of weapons, ammo, healing items, and Slurp Barrels, so you’d do well to find and open the Mythic Vault whenever possible.

Just don’t expect it to be easy. Besides being hard to find, opening the Mythic Vault is a complicated process, and requires you tocomplete several tasksbefore you can claim the treasure inside. Here’s how to find the Mythic Vault, obtain its key, and finally, open it inFortniteChapter 6.

Where To Find The Mythic Vault

Fortnite’s Mythic Vault Location

The Mythic Vault is located within Nightshift Forest, a new region onFortnite’s current map. You’ll find it on the far western side of the island, just north of Warrior’s Watch and south of Twinkle Terrace. The Vault itself is near the middle of the forest, at the exact location indicated by the white pin icon on the map above. It’s the smaller of only two buildings that appear in this area of the forest.

Do note that Nightshift Forest is (temporarily) cursed to remain in an eternal state of night, sovisibility will be low when walking around the forest. Try to move quickly here, as there’s likely to be a fair bit of competition for the Mythic Vault.

How To Get The Mythic Vault Key

Finding Sprite Shrines

In order to open the Mythic Vault, you’ll need a key. But before you find a key, you’ll have to find a Sprite. Sprites can be found at a variety of different Sprite Shrines (see above). These are scattered across the map, and you may very well come across one while inconveniently far from Nightshift Forest. If you just want to get to the Mythic Vault as quickly as possible, the closest Sprite Shrine appears to be located just south of the woods, at the western foot of the mountain overlooking Warrior’s Watch. Alternatively, there’s one at the eastern edge of the woods.

Sprites may also bestow different unique effects on you once you find them. The effect depends on the Sprite, so try to catch ‘em all.

If you can’t find either of these, just look for a beam of white light shooting straight upwards, and follow it to your nearest Sprite Shrine. Interact with it to claim your Sprite.

Finding The Bushranger

Your next step is to find the Bushranger, a friendly NPC who will provide you with the Vault Key in exchange for your Sprite. The Bushranger will be located at one of the three locations indicated by a red circle in the image above; in other words, either on the western, southern, or eastern side of the Nightshift Forest. Find them and select “Show Item” in the dialogue menu to trade Sprite for key.

With that, you should have the Vault Key in hand. To begin the opening process, you’ll have toreturn immediately to the Mythic Vaultas indicated above.

How To Open The Mythic Vault

Plus, What’s Inside

Once you have the Vault Key, you can return to the Mythic Vault and interact with it to open the door. That’s it - no more puzzle-solving or active effort required. Just wait for the door to slide open and head inside. What’s inside the Mythic Vault is likely to vary from match to match, but they’ll always contain several stacks of Slurp Barrels for healing, alongside at least five or six chests. These, in turn, may contain any number of items of varying rarity: weapons, consumables, accessories, and anything else you might find in normal chests.

More importantly, though, each Mythic Vault will also contain a Typhoon Blade. This isa distinct melee weaponthat, alongside its regular attack, allows you to execute an airbone slam attack for 70 damage, as well as a launch attack that deals 90 damage. Merely having the Typhoon Blade also increases your sprint speed and reduces your stamina consumption. You’ll also be able to perform an extra-high jump while sprinting, as well as a midair dash.

The Typhoon Blade can be found elsewhere, but opening the Mythic Vault is the most reliable way to do so.

And with that, you should have everything you need to open the Mythic Vault and claim the Typhoon Blade. It’s a powerful weapon to begin with, but also allows for a fun, uniqueFortniteplaystyle that’s worth trying while the current season is active.
