This Revelation Puts a Fun Twist on Their Relationship

Every DC Comics fan knows that Green Arrow and Black Canary have one of the most passionate romances in comics. It all started for the two when they met during a crossover between Earth-1 and Earth-2 during the Silver Age and Black Canary came to the Justice League’s world after the death of her husband. Oliver and Dinah eventually struck up a relationship during the ’70s that would end and restart multiple times over the next few decades. The two were driven apart during the New 52 reboot, but they rekindled their love affair for good during DC’s Rebirth era.

Black Canary and Green Arrow’s relationship is complex to say the least. However, this is a simple, streamlined way of having the two cross each other’s path. It makes sense that Oliver would seek out one of the best fighters to train him and it makes sense that Ted would pass Oliver on to Dinah, someone Ted viewed as one of the best fighters of her generation.Green Arrow has always admired Black Canary’s strength, and knowing she probably kicked his butt a few times during their training session gives their relationship a playful and meaningful origin.

No Wonder Why Oliver Sees Dinah as Incredibly Strong

To say that Green Arrow and Black Canary have had drama in the past would be underselling it. But knowing these two having been training together since they practically began their superhero lives explains why they’ve stayed together for so long. Dinah pushed Oliver to not just rely on trick arrows and use his fists. And if he didn’t immediately duck out after their first fight, Green Arrow showed an admirable resilience that no doubt impressed Black Canary. This look back on their first meeting really does highlight whyGreen Arrowand Black Canary were simply meant to be.
