Gwendoline Christie holds a bell while standing with dirt on her face in Severance season 2

“WhenGame of Thronesended, I made a very strong decision that I didn’t want to do combat anymore. But it’s very difficult when Ben Stiller asks you to do that for the finale ofSeverance, because of course it becomes a dream.

“It’s very different playing someone that wants to protect and wants to be a knight, and is connected to a higher sense of purpose, [versus] Lorne, who is a woman that’s been pushed too far. Out of her comes something unimaginable: a howling animal that’s prepared to go to any lengths to protect a vulnerable creature.”

Our Take On Lorne’s Severance Season 2 Finale Fight

Gwendoline Christie’s Character Could Become Even More Important

Generally,Severanceis not a show in which violence plays a large role. An ominous threat of violence does hang over much of the story, especially since Lumon will clearly go to great lengths to remain in control, but it’s rarely explicit on screen. This is what made theSeveranceseason 2 finale fight so powerful and so shockingly brutal. The fight was also well choreographed, edited, and acted, with the physically imposing Mr. Drummond making for an effective final-boss-like figure.

Drummond’s Severance Season 2 Fate Confirms A Harsh Reality About Lumon After A Dark Season 1 Twist

Severance season 2 had an explosive finale, but it also shed light on some serious issues that Lumon must address ahead of Severance season 3.

Lorne fights to protect her baby goat in the finale, andher love of her animals could be an interesting motivating factor moving forward, and one that audiences probably won’t have much trouble getting behind. Even though Lorne didn’t kill Mr. Drummond, she played a role in his death, meaning she does have blood on her hands, in a sense. It’s not clear if Lorne will be doing any more fighting inSeveranceseason 3, but she could be about to become a more important character in the story to come.
