How Red Hulk Is Different To The MCU’s Main Hulk
There’s More To It Than A Color Change
WithRed Hulk finally getting his due in the MCU, it begs the question of how Marvel Studios is tackling him in comparison to Bruce Banner, a.k.a. Hulk. Visually, it looks like the Red Hulk is essentially resembling what Hulk used to look like, size-wise, in earlier MCU movies. However, the context of how Red Hulk is different from the Hulk character-wise is whereCaptain America: Brave New Worldmay be tapping into a very complex story from the comics.
Since Ross has been an on-and-off antagonist in the MCU ever since his introduction inThe Incredible Hulk, the character finally becoming his comic book counterpart as the Red Hulk is a major full-circle moment for the franchise. With The Leader being back as part oftheCaptain America: Brave New Worldcast, it’s possible that they are finally going to have Tim Blake Nelson’s character be part of Ross’s evolution into Red Hulk, just like in the comics. Whether they are on the same side for the entire run ofCaptain America: Brave New Worldremains to be seen.
