Warning: Spoilers ahead forSilo season 2, episodes 1 & 2!With Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette Nichols left stranded in an almost-vacant structure, it may seem as though it’ll be very difficult for her to make it home inSiloseason 2, but there’s actually a very simple way she can pull it off. Of course,it all depends on whether Juliette actually wants to go back to Silo 18. That being said, it would be a little unusual if she never went back to spread the word aboutSilo’s heat tapetwist and the even greater dangers posed by a potential rebellion.

Ferguson’s return to lead theSilocastis a little different this time around. By theend ofSiloseason 1, Juliette had appeared in every episode of the Apple TV+ show. However,Siloseason 2’s story has produced at least one episode where Ferguson basically doesn’t feature. As such, the current run of episodes isn’t afraid to focus on the fallout of the season 1 finale, including certain residents of Silo 18 discoveringhow Juliette survived outside when no one else did. To prevent herself from becoming the figurehead of an ill-fated revolution,Juliette will need to hurry home.

Juliette Can Use The Mines To Get Back To Her Home Silo

Silo 18 may not be out of reach

The mines inSilohave often been referred to only when mentioning the punishment of residentsfor breaking the community’s rules. For example, possession of an unregistered Relic from the Before Times can be reason enough for someone to be sent to the mines for up to a decade of enforced labor. Although they have largely been viewed as a negative setting so far, they could easily turn out to be Juliette’s biggest advantage when she inevitably tries to return to Silo 18.

A Relic is an item from before the apocalypse, and they’re often rather mundane items outside the world of the show. They can be anything from a watch, a Pez dispenser, or even a book.

There have been several moments inSilothat reveal the lowest points of the structures hold many mysteries, including a door that’s been completely submerged. However, the fact thatJuliette can’t swim, nor can any otherSilocharacters, has prevented her from fully exploring. Interestingly,Juliette did manage to survive falling into water inSiloseason 2, episode 1, “The Engineer.” Therefore, it’s possible she may feel more confident when exploring her current surroundings, and may be able to discover a way to travel to other Silos via the mines.

Juliette Would Need Another Suit & Heat Tape To Go Back Outside

As was the case with every other character who was sent outside, Juliette was provided with an environment suit to help her try and survive the harsh conditions outside. The suits' gloves and boots are routinely sealed with tape, but the adhesive had long been intentionally poor to make sure everyone who went out to clean died shortly after. That way, the residents watching would remain discouraged from going out. Juliette discovered the tape trick, and made sure she had a superior version applied to her suit. Unfortunately, she lost her suit and the tape in “The Engineer.”

Silo Season 2 Episode 1’s Closing Song Perfectly Foreshadows What’s To Come For Juliette

Silo season 2 may seem as though it’s going to be unpredictable, but there’s a massive musical clue at the end of “The Engineer” that gives it away.

Sealed too well into her suit,Juliette was forced to destroy it due to lack of air when she was safely inside the devastated new Silo. If she wants to leave the way she came, she would need to replace both of them. That may seem like an easy fix given that she’s in a structure almost identical to the one she left behind, but there’s also no guarantee she’ll be able to find the exact same resources. So, the mines still remain her most viable option - although finding another suit and roll of tape could still be an option.

Why Juliette Needs To Go Back To Silo 18

Bernard’s manipulative speech only bought Silo 18 a temporary measure of peace

Ferguson’s character was the first in Silo 18’s recorded history to leave the building and make it over the hill, walking outside of the camera’s field of vision entirely. This was previously thought to be impossible, with the higher-ups propagating the lie that even a specialized suit wasn’t sufficient to weather the conditions up above. The superior heat tape changed all that, and although Juliette quickly disappeared from view, there is an emerging belief that she managed to survive far longer and is still not dead.

If Juliette doesn’t return home inSiloseason 2, things could get violent very quickly.

Tim Robbins’Bernard Holland called Juliette a heroduring his Mayoral address inSiloseason 2, episode 2, “Order,” but made it clear that his stance was that she couldn’t possibly still be alive. The two sides of the argument quickly clash, and the tensions that boil over are a huge signifier of what’s to come. Without hard evidence either way, the fate of the flooded Silo found by Juliette will serve as a bloody foreshadowing of what will happen in Silo 18. So, if Juliette doesn’t return home inSiloseason 2, things could get violent very quickly.
