The first opportunity for you tofind the Camera is for sale in the Vatican City.Since you do not start with the Camera, you must progress through some introduction quests toacquire the Clerical Suit disguise. When exiting the Apostolic Library, you should head into the Belvedere Courtyard in the area before making a left down the next street available. Once you reach the Via Di Belvedere, you must circumvent the fascists at the door, who don’t allow anyone to enter the area. This is where things start to get interesting for Indy.

To access this area, you’ll have to get creative with your parkour strategies to pick up some useful items while making your way into the Post Office area. There are several ways you can reach the target area,but the easiest way is to head to the small dead-end alleyway near the door. There is some scaffolding nearby where you can launch your whip, keeping you safely out of sight of the Blackshirts while getting you where you need to be.
From here, you can climb the scaffolding and pass the uninterested man enjoying his coffee despite Indy’s latest antics. Jump onto the roof from here and take note of the Adventure Book in this area before looking at the backstreet below you.The disguise no longer works in this area, so being careful is necessary. There is a rather convenient zipline next to Indy here that allows you to ride to the low roof outcropping on the left side of the backstreet. This puts you close enough to the Post Office that you only need to hop through the open window and wait for a good opportunity to cross the street after the guard and his dog pass.
Two priests are blocking the door, trying to look at what the Blackshirts are up to, so you will be free to enter the back maintenance staff room labeled “Facchino” to speak to a man named Ernesto. After some back and forth, Ernesto will agree to sell Indy the Camera. Unfortunately, dipping into your pockets to purchase the Camera may be painful as Ernesto wants you to cough up 379 Lira. Perhaps some stealing from the local Blackshirts may be necessary to acquire this time, but Indy isn’t above it. After you have enough money to buy the Camera, interact with it on the table to purchase it so you cansolve puzzles laterand earn XP.

Acquiring money this early in the game isn’t too difficult asthere are many convenient enemy soldier tents nearby in theBelvedere Courtyardfor you to borrow a few items. Although you can’t steal the Camera, you can pilfer the tents in the area to steal money and goods from shelves, inside drawers, and other more obvious places. To steal these items and money, you must be incredibly cautious and utilize stealth strategies to take things without being caught. Disguises won’t work in this area, so you must keep your distance from the guards above all else.
Don’t worry; if you’re spotted, you’ll need to run to a safe location, like a rooftop or a different area away from the restricted zone.
It is also possible to find money in different areas, like the backs of guard trucks around Vatican City, asecret boxing ring, or on tables scattered around the city. It would be best if you were also on the lookout for lock boxes and chests around the area, like the Belvedere Courtyard chest, for extra money. Aside from the Camera, having money is extremely important at this stage for buying other items from the Post Office lost and found inIndiana Jones and the Great Circle.
