Trade Tokens are one of the newest items inPokémon TCG Pocket, and you will want to know how to get your hands on them and use them for trade. There are also a few other important details about trading that you should know,as it is not quite as simple as it might be in real life. However, you can still crack your digital binders open and get ready to begin trading immediately.

Withnew events forPokémon TCG Pocketon the horizon, it is time to start filling out the collection. Another expansion for the game is on the way as well, with thenew Space-Time Smackdown cards arriving quite soon. Trading is going to be a large component as the set arrives, as you can now take advantage of your friends’ extras to fill out their own sets and vice versa, but you will need Trade Tokens to do it.

Every Pokémon TCG Pocket: Space-Time Smackdown Card Revealed (So Far)

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket’s next set, Space-Time Smackdown, is adding a ton of new Pokémon cards to the game, including Gen 4 Pokémon.

I have been clamoring for another way to use extra cards for a while now, but it is just now a little more useful. You will now be able totrade in your extra cards for Trade Tokens. However, there are some restrictions on this, and it is best to consider your options before you start getting rid of every extra card you have.

You cannot trade in cards with aTier 1 or 2 rarityfor Trade Tokens.

Each rarity will give you adifferent amount of Trade Tokens. At the time of release, the set values are:

Spending Tokens To Trade With Your Friends

You will need to spend a certain amount of Trade Tokens to be able totrade inPokémon TCG Pocketat higher rarity levels. You cantrade Tier 1 and 2 without needing any Tokens, but you will have to start turning in some Trade Tokens to get some heavy hitters. You will also need to have enough Trading Hourglasses, which function much like the other two kinds in this game do.

This system will requireyou to get rid of the extras of some cardsthat you have in order to trade, which is a little counterintuitive. I do wish there was a way to get rid of the lower-value cards for Trade Tokens, as if I sacrifice my extras I won’t have anything left to offer. Notably, you can alsoonly trade with someone if you are friendson the app.

You may also have to wait before being able to trade cards from the newest set on release. It is not yet known if those cards will be eligible for trades or not, but you should know fairly soon. Additionally, cards higher than a 1-Star rarity cannot yet be traded, but the company says that will come at some point down the line. Until then, use those Trade Tokens to get those ex cards you have been waiting for inPokémonTCG Pocket.
