Your Hideout is your sanctuary inPath of Exile 2, an important resource you’ll return to repeatedly as you play through the endgame content. The Hideout functions more or less like a fully customizable, always accessible town: it contains everycrafting station possible inPath of Exile 2, along with an assortment of merchants and any decor you may decide to put down. But it’s not just an exercise in interior design: it’s also crucial to certain endgame functions, including the Atlas of Worlds mapping system that you’ll use to travel and progress.
But of course, before you start reaping the benefits of your Hideout, you’ll have to unlock it. Completing The Main Quest
After completingthe entirety ofPath of Exile 2’s main questthrough “Legacy of the Vaal,”you’ll be directed to return to the Vaal Ziggurat and speak with Doryani for your next steps. Do just that, and Doryani will introduce you to the Atlas of Worlds, which isbasicallyPoE 2’s endgamemap. Your goal here is to clear the various nodes of the map of enemies, slowly but surely freeing each region of corruption, and ultimately saving the world. First, though, you’ll need a home base.

Path of Exile 2 can get a bit cluttered with all the different currencies and equipment, but using this filter makes collecting a breeze.
After a quick guide to the Atlas, you’ll be directed to choose a node to start from.Look for the nodes marked by blue fleur-de-lis icons, as pictured above - these are your potential Hideouts.Pick one, but don’t worry about the location too much - you’ll unlock more Hideouts later. You’ll then be teleported to your chosen map node to clear it of monsters before you claim it as your own.
And just like that, your Hideout is yours. From there,you can start moving around the rest of the map, clearing nodes and progressing the Atlas. You’ll return to your Hideout (and unlock new ones) periodically, using them to offload loot and upgrade equipment in between combat instances. And over time, you’ll come to change and customize your Hideout to your own personal liking.

Changing Your Hideout’s Location
Changing your Hideout’s location is as simple asusing a Waystone to unlock a new Hideout node on the map, then defeating the enemies there. Your Hideout is basically mobile, and will appear on any Hideout node you’ve conquered.
Changing Your Hideout’s Map & Tileset
If you want to change how your Hideout looks visually,you’ll need to unlock different Hideout types by exploring the Atlas. As you clear out further Hideout nodes, you’ll notice that some of them have different maps from others. There are currently four types: the Canal Hideout, the Felled Hideout, the Limestone Hideout, and the Shrine Hideout.

Once you’ve unlocked a node of a different type,you’re able to change any Hideout’s map by speaking to Alvaat the Hideout, and choosing the “Select Hideout” option. You can also customize each of the four Hideout maps individually, and switch between them for a quick change in the resources available to you.

Adding Crafting Stations, Decor, & NPCs
Now for the fun part: customization.You can customize your Hideout whenever you’re there by clicking on the arrow at the bottom of the screen.This will open the editing menu, which will allow you to drag, drop, and rotate NPCs, crafting stations, and decor just like you’re playing a game ofThe Sims. Over time, you may unlock new NPCs or items that you can then add to your Hideout.
Once it’s unlocked, you can return to your Hideout either by using the map, or by typing /hideout in the chat bar.
You’re free to decorate your Hideout however you want - just make sure you have all the resources you use regularly available. You can also save your designs, and import them automatically to future Hideouts if you want to make the process quicker. Typically, players will have either one or a handful of layouts set and ready to go, and will swap them in as needed whenever they find a new Hideout.
And with that, you have all the tools you need to unlock and start customizing your Hideout. At present, the design options are limited, but further designs are expected to be added in future updates throughout the early access period forPath of Exile 2.
