The cast ofIt’s Always Sunny in Philadelphiarevealed their thoughts on their characters' worst acts. Fans of the long-running FX series currently awaitIt’s Always Sunnyseason 17, which is set to premiere on July 9. It’s now the longest-running sitcom of all time, with a massive audience pool eagerly waiting to see what the Gang does next.
At the 20th Anniversary Panel, attended by Screen Rant on July 1, the cast ofIt’s Always Sunny in Philadelphiarevealed what they think is the worst thing each of their characters has done, reflecting on the past two decades of making the show. Each cast member’s responses to the question can be read below:

Glenn Howerton/Dennis:“I mean, I think it would probably have to be the actual implication scene on the cruise ship, probably the most despicable thing that you’ve seen my character do, funny, but pretty despicable.”
Charlie Day/Charlie:“I would say the thing to Ruby Taft was so ruthless.”

Danny DeVito/Frank:“Opening the grave of his ex-wife.”
Kaitlin Olson/Dee:“The two-decades-long decline of an ordained priest” (being responsible for Cricket’s downfall)
Rob McElhenney/Mac:“I would say cooking (tanning) a baby just to get a base. I mean… Yeah, but we were painting the baby. So actually, yes, not just my own black face, but maybe a child’s face.”
What The It’s Always Sunny Cast Members' Takes Mean
There Are Plenty Of Terrible Acts Between Their Characters
Considering that these answers came off the cusp, it’s not a bad assessment of each character’s worst acts.Glenn Howerton likely had the answer most fans will agree with, as his scene in the season 11 finale is undoubtedly one of the most uncomfortablemoments in the entire series.
As for Frank, his worst acts might also be off-screen, including the profits made from child labor sweatshops.
It’s heavily implied that Dennis has committed some of the most despicable acts among the characters, but the season 11 finale shows him in one of his most disturbing moments, so much so that Howerton almost wasn’t willing to do it. As for Frank, his worst acts might also be off-screen, including the profits made from child labor sweatshops.
Charlie Day also called back to a fun guest star: Alexandra Daddario’s Ruby Taft, who was victim to one of his most malicious and mean-spirited moments. Cricket’s downfall is a long-running gag, but that could be fairly attributed to the entire Gang. Dee is much more responsible for her actions in “Dee Hits Rock Bottom.”
Mac’s actions in “The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby” certainly aren’t spectacular, butone could make an argument for Mac killing and eating a dog in season 11’s “Mac & Dennis Move to the Suburbs.“He and Charlie are generally the least evil characters in the show, with the Reynolds family committing the truly evil acts.
Our Take On The It’s Always Sunny Gang’s Worst Actions
The Next Act Is Always The Worst One
Fans can argue about the worst things the Gang has done until the end of time, but it’s really going to come down to perspective. Ultimately, I’m more excited about what’s soon to come, in hopes that they’ll somehow manage to one-up some of these things.
There’s still plenty of ground forIt’s Always Sunny in Philadelphiato break, and I’m hoping they still have some exciting ideas saved as the show continues to run on longer. It would feel unfulfilling to wait two years for a new season only for it to feel tame. TheGolden Bachelor crossover seems like an excellent opportunityto do something hilariously awful.
