Amidst the turmoil caused by the manga’s quickly approaching ending, Gege Akutami’s hit shōnen seriesJujutsu Kaisenhas just announced anew compilation movie. Despite season 3 already being in production,Jujutsu Kaisenhas pleasantly surprised fans with the unexpected announcement of a new film adapting one of the most underrated arcs of the series.
According to a post on X by the anime’s official handle,Jujutsu Kaisenwill beadapting the Hidden Inventory Arcfrom season 2 into a compilation film set torelease in theatres in 2025. The announcement was also accompanied by a new key visual for the film featuring a collage of various key moments from the Hidden Inventory Arc.
It is yet to be confirmed whether the film will be released in theaters globally likeJujutsu Kaisen 0but this may very well end up being the case considering the latter’s positive reception and overall success. The staff in charge of the project at MAPPA are also yet to be revealed.

The Film Could Further Expand on Certain Scenes and Fights
Though the Hidden Inventory Arc is only 5 episodes long, it is arguably one of the most underrated arcs of the series that recontextualizes Geto’s character and his relationship with Gojo, thus setting the stage for the Shibuya Arc. The arc also greatly expanded on Gojo’s character, adding a lot of surprising depth and complexity to him.
Despite its short length, the five episodes are arguably perfect for a feature film and present the opportunity to flesh out some parts of the story like the Okinawa trip. The film could also add to Gojo’s fight against Toji much like how the Blu-ray version of season 2 expanded and refined Sukuna’s fight against Mahoraga. All in all,Jujutsu Kaisen’snew compilation film could be the perfect opportunity for fans to re-experience the Hidden Inventory Arc before season 3 releases.
