Kraven’s Darkest Story Ever Would Be a Perfect Marvel Movie

Spider-Man: Kraven’s Last HuntIs an Iconic Spider-Man Crossover Story

While details are still scarce, it seems that the plot ofKraven the Hunterwill be about the eponymous Kraven hunting down the most dangerous criminals in the world. Considering that Sony doesn’t seem able to feature Spider-Man in these spin-offs, this story is the next best way to use a character like Kraven. If this movie proves to be a success, there’s hope that a sequel will be greenlit, and evenJohnson has stated that he’d love to explore the story ofKraven’s Last Hunt:

There’s a brilliant comic book [series] calledKraven’s Last Hunt. It’s quite a shocking comic book to have come out at the time [1987]. He basically battles with depression. Nothing’s good enough, right? And I’m fascinated by that. I would love to explore that.

IfSony can get Spider-Manin it, it could be a fantastic movie.

Kraven’s Last Huntis an incredibly dark and important story that focuses on three characters: Spider-Man, Kraven, and Vermin. While most would think Spider-Man is the focus, the star of the story is undeniablyKraven the Hunter. As Johnson points out,Kraven is obviously depressed throughout the story. He often speaks about how he’s never felt happiness and that he’s been searching for honor his entire life. He finally seems fed up with the world, no longer willing to continue living in it. But before he can die, he needs to go on one last hunt to prove something to himself and to Spider-Man.

With this final victory, Kraven defeats Vermin again, setting him loose in New York, before letting Spider-Man leave to chase after him. WhileSpider-Man promises to return to beat Kravenand take him into custody, Kraven makes a solemn promise that his hunting days are over. While Spider-Man is gone, Kraven calls the Daily Bugle and confesses to the murders and brutality he committed while posing as Spider-Man. After that,Kraven reflects that he finally feels contentand that he thinks happiness is for the first time within his reach. He then ends his own life in the comfort of his home.

Kraven’s Last Huntis an incredibly dark comic, and while a one-to-one adaption is unlikely, there’s no denying just how powerful this story is. It is widely regarded as the greatest Kraven the Hunter story ever told. The story is so well regarded that it was loosely adapted inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2,which was released earlier this year. If Sony’s movie is to have a sequel, it seems thatadapting this iconic Marvel story would be a no-brainer, and it would only be strengthened if they could include Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Facing Kraven would be a test for Holland’s Spider-Man unlike anything else, and he’s in a perfect place for it.

Fans Would Go Wild forKraven’s Last Hunt

Holland’s Spider-Man is currently completely alone. He doesn’t have any friends or family; all he has is being Spider-Man. It’s not hard to imagine how he would react to a villain who appeared and tried to take even Spider-Man away from him. Kraven’s entire point in this story was to prove once and for all that he is better than Spider-Man in every way. He’s not only capable of defeating Spider-Man, buthe’s capable of being a better Spider-Man.
