As Lila becomes the season 2 antagonist,Dexter has to contend with his feelings for her, as well as accept that she has as many psychological issues as he does. She just has not found an outlet in the same way Dexter has. After Lila murders Sergeant James Doakes (Erik King), Dexter decides he needs to kill Lila. He invites her to run away with him, but when she opens his bag to discover knives and syringes, she knows exactly what’s in store for her. Instead of going with Dexter, she flees and kidnaps Astor (Christina Robinson) and Cody (Preston Bailey).

Dexter had some great storylines over the years that fans really loved but they weren’t all gold. Here are the best and the worst.

Dexter tracks Lila to her loft, where she sets the apartment ablaze. Dexter narrowly manages to escape with the children, and Lila escapes to Paris. It’s hard to run from Dexter, however, and he manages to find her again. He kills Lila by stabbing her in the heart, giving her a quick and painless death. As she dies,Dexter thanks her for helping him understand more about himself. Lila reveals what Dexter would look like if he refused to suppress his base urges. Dexter comes to understand that he wants to overcome his dark side after dealing with Lila.

Dexter And Lila Both Felt Distanced From Human Emotions

Lila was actually perfect for Dexter, even if he didn’t want to admit it.She understood his Dark Passenger personaas well as anyone and even loved him for it. She also wore a mask and had a similarly difficult time understanding human emotions. One of the reasons she went to support groups was to observe feelings she was incapable of.Dexter did not have to lie to be with her, and they could have been happy. That would have come at the cost of Dexter’s humanity, however. Though hiding his true self is difficult, he understands why he must.

Murray had notable recurring roles in shows likeGotham,Ringer,Once Upon a Time, andMidnight, Texas. Since 2021, however, she hasn’t appeared in anything and has no projects currently in the works. Murray does frequently post on her Instagram,msjaimemurray, about her philanthropic work in the Amazon Rainforest. Fortunately, Murray has a bigger heart than her character Lila does onDexter.
