Spider-Man Gives His Life For Doctor Doom

Marvel Shows the X-Men Continuing His Battle

Spider-Man has gone up against some incredibly dangerous criminals in the past, but he rarely fights magical or god-like villains. That’s why Doctor Doom had to infuse Spider-Man with eight lives, so that every time he died on this quest he’d be able to come back and try again. Unfortunately, it seems that even the eight lives of Spider-Man aren’t enough. Despite trying his best to hold off the scions of Cyttorak, Spider-Man expends his lives and is finally killed. But exactlywhat this death means for the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man still isn’t clear.

Marvel obviously won’t be willing to permanently lose Spider-Man, but heroes including Wolverine and Steve Rogers' Captain America have been ‘dead’ for years in the past, and Pete’s clone Chasm has been circling him lately, essentially wanting to steal his life. It’s possible Doctor Doom is playing 4D chess to take Peter off the board and replace him with Chasm or - even worse - leverage hisninthresurrection to put him in Doom’s debt. Art for the upcomingOne World Under Doomevent shows Marvel’s heroes bowing to the villain, so it would make sense that his initial plans are to establish control over them.
