10 Best Animated Video Game Adaptations, Ranked
Many animated video game adaptations have been released, but only a few TV shows and movies are acclaimed as top-tier visual storytelling experiences.
It’s unclear, however, what theMass Effectshow will be about. Commander Shepard serves as the protagonist of the first threeMass Effectgames, which chronicle his fight against the Reapers, a hostile alien race. WithAndromeda, the franchise’s 2017 release, leaving Shepard’s story behind and jumping far into the future, the TV show clearly has options in terms of how to approach the source material. A newMass Effectgame is also currently in development, though its story remains shrouded in mystery.

Mass Effect 5was announced back in 2020, though few updates have emerged on the project since.
Our Take On Prime Video’s Mass Effect Adaptation
Is Casey Up To The Task?
F9: The Fast Sagareviewswere mixed from critics, and Casey’s previous notable writing work includesKin(2018), which earned negative reviews,The Death of Michael Smith(2006), an indie, and four episodes ofDrone. Casey, then, arguably hasn’t yet penned a big Hollywood project that has been well-received.
That being said, bothKinandDroneare sci-fi projects, so he clearly has an interest in the genre.Mass Effectcould end up breaking this trend and being a major hit, especially if he is intimately familiar with the video games. With the show still early on in the development process, more concrete information about the project could be months or potentially years away, but Prime Video’s release ofFalloutis a promising for its upcoming take onMass Effect.
