MaXXXine’s streaming release date has been revealed, and it will arrive just in time for Halloween. Directed by Ti West, the final movie in his critically acclaimedXtrilogy premiered in July. Following the events ofX,the horror sequel finds Maxine Minx (Mia Goth) in Los Angeles, chasing her dream of stardom, although past trauma and a string of grisly murders threaten her chances. Along with Goth,the cast ofMaXXXineincludes Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Kevin Bacon, Halsey, Bobby Cannavale, Michelle Monaghan, and Giancarlo Esposito.

According toDeadline,MaXXXinewill becomeavailable to stream on Max by October 18.It’s being added to the platform through a previously confirmed deal with A24, which distributed the film.

Halloween Season May Be The Perfect Time To Release

Before the theatrical release ofMaXXXine, there were a lot of expectations surrounding how theXfranchisewould conclude. Compared to prior installments,XandPearl: An X-traordinary Origin Story, the final entry had a more impressive box office run, earning over $21 million worldwide. However,MaXXXinetook a blow in terms of critical reception,bearing the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score(currently at 73%), which might have influenced some moviegoers or casual horror audiences to wait for its launch on streaming.

Despite its commercial success, an upcoming streaming release may help expand the audience forMaXXXineand even the two earlier films, as viewers go back to see what happened to her character or find connections between her and Pearl.
