Hasbro has unveiled the first look at action figures fromStar Wars: Skeleton Crewat New York City Comic-Con, and one figure in particular seems to be purposely missing a key component of their character. One of the leadingSkeleton Crewcharactersis Jude Law’s Jod Na Nawood, who has been described before as a “different” kind of Jedi. Jod is seen wielding the Force in theSkeleton Crewtrailer, but beyond that, he seems to embody a scoundrel more than a Jedi, even one in hiding post-Order 66. This new figure’s missing element doubles down on this mystery.

What The Missing Lightsaber Means For Star Wars' Next “Jedi”

He’s Not Who We Think He Is

This lack of a lightsaber may not be too significant in the short-term, but in the big picture, it could very well be the first hint that Jod isn’t who he says he is. The trailer forSkeleton Crewmakes it quite clear that Wim, one of the four children, dreams of meeting Jedi, which would of course make him eager to regard a Force-user like Jod as a Jedi. Despite this, all Jod does in that trailer is wield the Force, which Force-sensitive non-Jedi are still capable of doing. Essentially, this sets up a fascinating storyline inSkeleton Crew.

Star Wars Is Lying About Jude Law’s Jedi Character

Is He Actually A Jedi?

Star Warssetting up Law’s Jod as a Jedi seems to be a ruse that will pay off duringSkeleton Crew’s story, withhim perhaps serving as a lesson that the children need to be careful of who they trust in the galaxy. Jod going along with a fake Jedi identity would be a perfect way of showing this; Wim would no doubt lead the kids into this train of thought that would see them giving him their full allegiance. Having to learn the truth about Jod would completely transform the way they see, and trust, others.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew: Cast, Story & Everything We Know

The upcoming live-action TV show, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, looks to be a fascinatingly unique Disney+ show. Here’s what’s known about it so far.

The lightsaber that’s missing from Jod’s Black Series figure seems to set this reality up even more. It would make for a wonderful plot twist, and it would truly serve the story and its coming-of-age theme. This is a hard lesson to learn, and having the children learn it while they’re on such a dangerous adventure would only make it more impactful. It would also simply be fascinating to see a fake Jedi setup like this, shouldSkeleton Crewtruly be preparing to execute this twist with Jod Na Nawood.
