Now,FX Networkshas revealed the new teaser trailer forAlien: Earth. As the sun’s glint on Earth is shown, aresounding narrator voice says “In 2120, Mother Earth is expecting.“The scene then pans out from Earth to reveal the reflection of Earth in a Xenomorph’s head. The Xenomorph bears its teeth before the scene quickly cuts away. As theAlien Earthtitle card shows, indistinguishable faces are shown for fleeting moments. The final title card reveals a release window forAlien: Earth, saying that the show will come in Summer 2025.

The Timeline Has Been Clarified
Though theAlien: Earthteaser trailerdoes very little by way of revealing more of the sci-fi series plot, it did clarify the show’s exact timeline. It has been previously established that theFX series would be a prequel to Ridley Scott’sAlien.Now, the year is clarified to be 2120, which is less than 100 years beyond real-life present day.
This does have some confusing implications when it comes to the originalAlienfranchise. The original 1979 film was set in 2122, which would mean thatAlien: Earthis only taking place two years before its events. This small timeline gap would be at odds with how the series was originally represented. Placing the events of the television and film series so close together would make it such that the events ofAlien: Earthwould have more consequences onAlien, a film that has already been made. HowAlien: Earthhandles this timeline remains to be seen.

Beyond the chronological setting, another important reveal in thisAlien: Earthteaser was the fact that it will be released sometime in the summer of 2025.
