Nintendo appears to have accidentally leaked that an iconicMario Karttrack is indeed coming toMario Kart World, despite the track not being shown in any revealed gameplay so far.Mario Kart Worldcurrently has 16 confirmed coursesand seven cups in the Grand Prix mode. Despite this new leaked course’s reputation, it has not been officially revealed yet, and it’s one that fans are probably going to be both happy and frustrated to see.

As seen byEdwardSabaVoon X, the KoreanMario Kart Worldwebsiteaccidentally posted an image showing Rainbow Road on theMario Kart Worldmap. The images on the website have since been removed, but EdwardSabaVo managed to get a screenshot of the page before it was taken down. It almost certainly looks like Rainbow Road, with a giant rainbow being surrounded by dark thundering clouds and several racetrack lines coming from the supposed Rainbow Road course, indicating this screenshot was from the in-game map or menu showing connections to other courses.

Will We Be Able To Drive Into The Sky?

From the initially revealedMario Kart Worldgameplay details, we know the game currently has three main modes of play confirmed: Grand Prix, Knockout Tour, and Free Roam. With Free Roam letting players drive off-road and explore the game’s vast and diverse locales, and players also driving from one track to another during the Grand Prix races,it’s not clear how Rainbow Road will work inMario Kart World. The course could be a hidden unlockable track, or maybe there is a rainbow path that leads up to the course in the open world.

Mario Kart World Introduces New Way To Stop Dreaded Blue Shells

Mario Kart World is bringing in the big guns to help racers avoid those annoying Blue Shells with the return of the Feather power-up item.

Either way, the trackis not officially confirmed for the gameor seen in gameplay demos given to the media, which makes sense given the perennial status of Rainbow Road as the final track for players to enjoy. It’s possible, but not too likely, that we’ll see an official glimpse of the game’s rendition of Rainbow Road at theMario Kart WorldDirect on April 17.

You Can’t Have A Mario Kart Game Without Rainbow Road

Legendary Difficulty And An Iconic Design Make It Impossible To Go Without

Rainbow Road is arguably the most iconicMario Karttrack in the franchise, usually featuring vibrant colors, a lengthy course, unbarred edges, and sharp turns, making it one of the most challenging tracks in the series.Rainbow Road is historically the “final level” track in its appearances; it’s only absent intheMario Kart Arcade GP DXgames (though otherRainbow-themed tracks replaced it in those titles). Rainbow Road evenmade an appearance inThe Super Mario Bros. Movie, so the track is almost synonymous with the name of the franchise.

Rainbow Road is a staple, so it’s safe to assume that this leak is probably true and that it is most likely a playable course in the game. Even if it’s not fully confirmed yet, this news may bring some joy to someMario Kart Worldfans who are upset aboutthe game’s $80 price tag. Whether the course is fully playable from the get-go, an unlockable track, or some other secret remains to be seen.
