Nintendo is already planning ahead for theNintendo Switch 2’s launch, ensuring that demand can be met to - hopefully - ensure no shortages. With plans to launch with a newMario Karttoo, many players will be picking up the console to game along with friends.
During a recentNintendo Q&A(viaFamitsu), president of Nintendo Shuntaro Furukawa revealed just how the company is gauging fan interest in the Nintendo Switch 2, and how it will impact the production of consoles. Furukawa explained (auto-translated):

“At this point, we are taking risks and proceeding with production so that we can meet as much demand as possible. We would like to determine the level of initial demand and subsequent demand by observing the reaction after the information was released at the Nintendo Direct on April 2 and the reaction of customers who actually touched the product through the trial session.
As with the Nintendo Switch, we believe that it will not be easy to rapidly increase production capacity, but based on our past experience, we will continue to make preparations so that we can respond as quickly as possible.”

Furukawa’s words confirm that Nintendo is taking steps to ensure the Switch 2 is as readily available as possible at launch, though it’s clear that Nintendo isn’t fully confident in its plans, with the president recognizing that it “will not be easy to rapidly increase production capacity.”
