With theNintendo Switch 2Direct officially complete, a lot of exciting new and returning titles have been revealed. 21 of these games will be available as soon asthe Switch 2 launches on June 5th, 2025, although a few of those are simply Switch 2 Edition upgrades of Switch games. While this date is a ways away, it’s close enough that die-hard and casual fans alike should get excited about everything the Switch 2 will bring.

Of the 20 titles releasing on launch, many of them are expected, but exciting, favorites. There are only a couple of Nintendo-produced games on the list, but even so, the slate of games includes classics as well as more recent big hits. Whether your predictions for the Nintendo Direct were right or there are more games you’re looking forward to, the Nintendo Switch 2 launch day will be jam-packed with new games to discover.

20 Titles Headed Your Way On June 5th

Like with the Switch 1 launch, there are a ton of games slated to release at the same time as the Switch 2.Some of these games include recent PC and console bit-hits, while others have been in the making for years.I’m personally very excited to see the next two chapters of Toby Fox’sDeltarune, which has beenbuilding towards something bigfor years, but that’s not the only game to look forward to. While some of these are no surprise, bigger and more visually detailed games likeCyberpunk 2077andSplit Fictionpose unique challenges for the new console and will be a good test of the console’s capabilities.Cyberpunk 2077was plagued with performance issuesat its launch in particular, so it running well on the new Switch 2 would be a great sign for both CDPR and the Switch 2’s new upgraded hardware.

Nintendo Switch 2 Retail Leak Suggests Pre-Orders Opening Soon, Coinciding With Upcoming Nintendo Direct

Deleted info for the Switch 2 from Best Buy indicate preorders may be opening soon, though Nintendo has yet to make any official announcement.

With this many games on the roster for release day, the Switch 2’s performance (and storage capacity — some of these games are big) will truly be put to the test. During the hour-long Nintendo Direct, these and many more games were announced, but it’s likely that this is just the tip of the iceberg of the Switch 2’s catalog.

Pre-orders aren’t open yet, but should open April 9th with select retailers. Interested players canregister for pre-order on the Nintendo website, but this still doesn’t guarantee your spot, so you should definitely keep an eye out for announcements if you to enjoy theNintendo Switch 2catalog at launch.
