Captain Krin debuts in the first issue of Valiant’sThe Legend of Zeldacomics by George Caragonne, Rudy Nebres, and Rodney Ramos.He serves as the Captain of the Guard for the North Palace and thus has a sworn duty to protect Zelda and her father, King Harkinian.In addition to that fealty, he is depicted as someone Link can count on when he needs action to be taken promptly. For example, when Link finds out that Ganon has capturedImpa and Zelda, he informs Krin of the situation. Without hesitation, the Captain ventures out with his guards to rescue the princess from peril.

He’ll gladly drop everything to help Link rescue Zelda, yet he won’t follow him blindly and is capable of speaking his mind when their methods don’t align. Unfortunately, Krin hasn’t been incorporated into theZeldatimelinebeyond Valiant Comics' short-lived continuity, but it’s never too late to remedy that oversight and finally dive into thisneglected character’s lore. Krin deserves to be integrated into a new installment ofThe Legend of Zeldaas a member of Hyrule’s royal guard, fighting on the princess' behalf once more.
