Dirty water and some food can be found in the wild, but if you want access to better food and beverages, certain items must be unlocked and crafted. One of these items is the Brewing Barrel, which unlocks atTier 4 in the Memetics tree, underneath Logistics.

Then start adding raw ingredients to create different recipes, like ale and cheese, which will help you on your quest to survive in thisnew yet controversial world.
How To Make Ale, Cheese & Pickles In The Brewing Barrel
Stock Up On Purified Water To Make These Recipes
The Brewing Barrel is used to make four recipes inOnce Human:Malt Ale,Corn Ale,Cheese, andPickle. These recipes help replenish vital life forces such as hydration and energy, similar to howfood replenishes hungerinSons of the Forest. All of these recipes require purified water, so you’ll also need access to theWater Collector,Water StorageTank, and the Osmosis Water Purifier. Also, the Brewing Barrel has a ratio of 2:1, so be mindful of that measurement when adding ingredients.
Brewing takes roughly 20 minutes to complete. Be careful, as ingredients left in for too long will spoil.
To make Malt Ale, add one wheat and two pure waters to the Brewing Barrel. Corn Ale requires one corn and two pure waters. Cheese requires two milk and one pure water, while pickles need two cucumbers and one pure water. Make sure to use fresh ingredients. For these recipes, place purified water in the Pure Water Input and the other ingredients in the Raw Materials Input.

How To Use The Brewing Barrel To Farm Acid (& Uses)
Farm Acid To Make Gunpowder
While making ale, cheese, and pickles is a good use of the Brewing Barrel, there’s an evenbetteruse - the Brewing Barrel isone way to farm acid. Acid is a valuable resource inOnce Human. Acid is used to create consumables and items like Tungsten Ingots, Storage Batteries, Activators, Adrenaline Shots, and gunpowder. While it’s possible to obtain Acid by other means, such as dissembling items at a Disassembly Bench and fighting enemies, these things take time and energy.The Brewing Barrel will farm Acid passively.
To do this,set up next to a polluted water source. If you’re having trouble finding a place to set up,you can always change worlds. Unlock and buildWater Pumps,Brewing Barrels, and Reverse Osmosis Purifiers, the latter will require Tier 5 Logistics. Place Water Pumps into the polluted water and connect them to Osmosis Water Purifiers. This will farm Impure Acid from the polluted water. Next, connect the Osmosis Water Purifiers to the Brewing Barrels. Add Pure Water into the Pure Water Input and Impure Acid into the Raw Materials Input. Then it’s just a waiting game.
Use Acid to create gunpowder by combiningthree acid, three charcoal, and six sulfur at a Supplies Workbench. Then combine one gunpowder and three copper ingots to create ammunition at the same workbench. Creating consumables and farming Acid with Brewing Barrels will be helpful in the fight against the Deviants inOnce Human, allowing you to stay hydrated and energized and protect yourself with weapons.
