Meanwhile,Preacher’s Mark Harelik will portray Dr. Hiriluk, one of Kureha’s fellow doctors on the island who helped Chopper return to full health despite his eccentricities and murky past as a thief.

With Sagal taking on the role of Kureha, a long-running saga behind the scenes of theOne Piecelive-action adaptation has been brought to a close. Before the Netflix series aired, the character had been long fancast by long-running viewers, with Jamie Lee Curtis emerging as the favorite due to her own enjoyment of the manga, even being acquainted with Chopper’s anime voice actor Brina Palencia. Furthermore, Curtis herself made her desire to play Kureha known in 2023, stating her daughter saw her as a good choice for that character, which further encouraged her.
