WithOne Pieceseason 2 surprisingly absent from Netflix’s 2025 release slate, Sanji actor Taz Skylar weighs in on when the next chapter of the live-action adaptation will be released. The fantasy series is based on Eichirou Oda’s beloved manga, following the adventures of Inaki Godoy’s Monkey D. Luffy as he embarks on a quest to discover a legendary, legacy-cementing treasure. InOne Pieceseason 1, Skylar portrays Sanji Vinsmoke, a chef at the Baratie restaurant who climbs aboard the Going Merry and becomes one of the founding members of Luffy’s Straw Hat Pirates crew.

While speaking withThe Direct, Skylar addressed the show’s release window in light of conflict reports. As the star also heard varying reports, he avoided giving a firm answer as to when the series would be released, stating that he did not have the insight himself. Despite this, the actor felt certain thatthe series would not go beyond the 2026 release window. Check out Skylar’s full response below:

“It’s a great question. I’ve heard multiple versions myself, so I’d probably be getting myself into trouble if I did say. But at the same time, I can quite honestly say I don’t think it’s clear yet, but I could again, I don’t know if I’m gonna get into trouble, but I could probably say with most confidence, it’s not further than that [2026] window.”

What Skylar’s Response Means For One Piece Season 2’s Release

Season 2 May Have A More Extensive Post-Production

A 2026release window forOne Pieceseason 2lines up with the precedent set by the first season’s production. Filming on season 1 lasted between January 2022 and August 2022 for an almost eight-month shoot, with the debut ultimately released on Netflix on July 24, 2025. As such, should season 2’s post-production cycle and promotional cycle align with the first season,the sophomore installment could be released in early 2026, just over a year after production wrapped.
