Seven years afterFight For My Way,I would love for Park Seo-joon and Kim Ji-won to play the lead characters in a K-drama together again.The actors have not been in a project together sinceFight For My Way, although both of their careers have evolved impressively. Park Seo-joon has played several leading roles since 2017, including in instant classics such asItaewon ClassandWhat’s Wrong With Secretary Kim. He currently stars as Tae-sang inGyeongseong Creaturealongside Han So-hee. Kim Ji-won has also been in plenty of great shows since 2017, the most recent beingQueen of Tears.
Perhaps thebest K-drama of 2024so far,Queen of Tearswas arguably Kim Ji-won’s significant role sinceFight For My Way. Her performance as Hae-in was the driving force of the show, and while Kim Soo-hyun also gave an incredible performance, Kim Ji-won was the show’s standout. Interestingly,all of the Crazy Fantastic Four fromFight For My Wayshined in 2024 with new K-dramas, serving as a reminder of how great they were together. Park Seo-joon and Kim Ji-won’s chemistry is hilariously charming inFight For My Way. While the series is a slice-of-life K-drama that focuses on several aspects of adult life and not just on relationships, the dynamic between Dong-man and Ae-ra was one of the best things about it.Ae-ra and Dong-man had been friends since they were kids, yet the odds were never in their favor when it came to expressing their feelings for each other. Between other relationships and misunderstandings, it took a while before they realized what they truly felt about each other.
Dong-man and Ae-ra were always trying to protect each other, which is why their relationship was so fascinating (…)
In addition to the will-they-won’t-they romance storyline,the scenes between Park Seo-joon and Kim Ji-won inFight For My Wayare utterly hilarious.Having known each other for years, the two characters could be as sincere as possible with each other. Dong-man and Ae-ra were always trying to protect each other, which is why their relationship was so fascinating even before they were an actual couple. Their journeys to make their dreams come true were also very compelling, with both Kim Ji-won and Park Seo-joon giving career-defining performances in one of their first K-dramas.
A New Park Seo-joon & Kim Ji-won K-Drama Would Have To Be Very Different
They Have Enough Range To Play Completely Different Characters
It’s not very common for the lead actors of a K-drama to play a couple again in another show. That said, if Kim Ji-won and Park Seo-joon ever star together in another series, I would want it to be very different fromFight For My Way. As much as I loved Dong-man and Ae-ra, both actors have shown that they have a lot of range over the years and can tackle very different characters.It would be amazing to have aFight For My Wayreunionin another show, even if Park Seo-joon and Kim Ji-won don’t play the leading couple.

Likewise, afterGyeongseong Creatureseason 2 premiers on Netflix, Park Seo-joon’s nextK-dramawill have to be confirmed. There is nothing to suggest that these two will work on the same project shortly. However, considering the success Kim Ji-won and Park Seo-joon have achieved in the last seven years, aFight For My Wayreunion is long overdue.
