Astro Bothas yet to release on thePlayStation 5, butdeveloper Team Asobi seems confident that the plucky mascot will return for another game. While it’s impossible to gauge the success of a video before its launch, it’s good to know that the team behind one of the most anticipated PS5 exclusives of 2024 is so confident in the project. Astro Bot may have started out as a small PSVR character, but he’s quickly becoming an icon worthy of mascots like Kratos and Ratchet & Clank.

On X (formerly Twitter), userGenki_JPNshared a leaked list of every Trophy included inAstro Bot, calling attention to the description for the Platinum: “Earned all Trophies. Well done and see you in Astro’s next adventure!”

While that may not be official confirmation that Team Asobi is working on a sequel,it does indicate that the developer already has plans for Astro Bot that will see him return. Whether that’s in a dedicated sequel or within a cameo appearance in a different project remains to be seen, but it’s good to know players likely haven’t seen the last of Astro Bot.

What Is Astro Bot About?

A Platforming Icon In The Making

Astro Bot has come a long way since hisintroduction inAstro Bot: Rescue Mission, a PSVR exclusive that featured the little android as he saved the lives of his endangered crew. Having starred inAstro’s Playroom, the free “demo” that comes with the PlayStation 5, he’s taking to the stage for another game that’s set to be bigger than ever.A traditional 3D platformerin nature,Astro Botwill see the titular character explore 80 unique levelsas he once again has to track down and rescue the missing members of his crew.

Aside from featuring some gameplay twists, the biggest draw for many PlayStation 5 owners is howAstro Bothomages other Sony games. Various Bots can be encountered thatdirectly reference iconic characters; some of the ones that have made it into promotional material include Kratos (God of War), Aloy (Horizon), and Nathan Drake (Uncharted). These fun nods to other franchises willreportedly be greater than mere cameosbut how they work in a gameplay sense remains to be seen.
