Pokémon TCG Pocket’s latest expansionMythical Islandwas just released, but there are already leaks showing some of thepotential upcoming promo cardsthat go along with the new set.Pokémon TCG Pockethas several styles of promo cards, including Premium Pass cards, Drop Event promos, and Wonder Pick promos. This leak has shown off nine cardsspanning all three types that are supposedly coming withMythical Island.
IfMythical Islandfollows the pattern of the previous set,Genetic Apex, then this leak looks like a plausible rollout of new cards.Genetic Apex’s promo cards mainly came in Promo Packs, which introduced five new cards each, and two Wonder Pick events, which introduced two cards each. It seems likeMythical Islandmay be getting a similar release structure for its promos. However, as a smaller set that is just bridging the gapbetween October’sGenetic Apexand the next full set expected at the end of January, it seems like there will be fewer promo events.

Every Mythical Island Promo Card Leaked
Nine New Promos Were Leaked For Mythical Island
According to the leak, there are nine new promo cards coming toPokémon TCG Pocketover the course ofMythical Island’sshort run as the newest set:
Five of the new cards - Snivy, Volcarona, Blastoise, Eevee, and Cinccino - appear to be from upcoming Promo Packs typically awarded from a Drop Event due to the blue logo on them. Charmander and Squirtle appear to be from an upcoming Wonder Pick event based on the Chansey logo, which also tracks since the current Wonder Pick event is focused on their fellow Kanto starter, Bulbasaur. The full leak viaCentroLeakscan be seen below:

Two of these potential promo cards stand out: Moltres ex and Pikachu. Neither have a specific promo logo attached to them, so it’s unclear where they would come from. The most likely assumption is through the Premium Pass rewards page. The previous Pikachu promo from the Premium Pass also doesn’t have any logos, so these new promos would fit that pattern.
When Will These New Promo Cards Be Released?
Promo Cards Are Typically Released Alongside Events
Because these promo cards are connected toMythical Island, they willlikely be released sometime between now and the newPokémon TCG Pocketset’s expected releaseat the end of January. Previous Drop Events which offered Promo Packs lasted about two weeks each. If the Mythical Island Drop Event that will seemingly offer promo cards like Snivy and Volcarona is the same, then players can likely expect it sometime in the next few weeks. That way it can run its course before the next set is out.
Previous Wonder Pick events have also lasted about two weeks, overlapping one of those weeks with a Drop Event. Since the Bulbasaur Wonder Pick event is just finishing up, and theVenasaur Drop Eventended first, players can expect a new Drop Event to be the next new event. This will likely be a Blastoise Drop Event where players can snag Promo Packs featuring one of the five leaked cards with the blue logo on them.

10 Pokémon TCG Pocket Cards With The Most Nostalgic Art, Ranked
Pokémon TCG Pocket features a lot of great artwork on its cards, some of which harkens back to the style of the Pokémon TCG’s first edition.
If these events follow the current pattern, thenplayers can expect a Wonder Pick Event featuring Squirtle and Charmanderto start about a week into the Blastoise Drop Event. When this will take place isn’t clear, though previous events have been staggered by a week or more. There was also the Fire Pokémon Mass Outbreak event that took place between the previous batches of Drop and Wonder Pick Events, so it may be another week or so before any of these promos become available.

What Mythical Island Promo Cards Are Confirmed So Far?
None Of The Leaked Cards Have Been Officially Confirmed Yet
As of right now, the only sources for these leaks are posts of images online that aren’t sourced to any official announcements. Looking atPokémon TCG Pocketand official communications from Pokémon about it, there aren’t any solid confirmations yet that these nine cards are going to appear. While they look very real, and most players seem to be treating the leak as fact, none are technically confirmed yet.
That said, they will likely be announced closer to the start of any actual event.Pokémon TCG Pocketpromos tend to get announced alongside whatever event they’re a part of, instead of independently.
