Unlisted YouTube Video Supports PS5 Pro Speculation

X (formerly Twitter) userWario64provided a link to an unlisted YouTube video from PlayStation, which was previously titled “PS5 Pro,” according to Wario64’s screenshot. The title of the video has been changed, but Wario64’s generally reliable track record supports the widespread speculation that PlayStation’s upcoming Technical Presentation will reveal the new console model.Screen Rant’s original story on the presentation’s announcement continues below.

After months of speculation,PlayStationmight finally unveil its PlayStation 5 Pro soon. As is often the case with console generations, there is often a mid-generation refresh with a slim model or a more powerful version. As the PS5 got a smaller, modular redesign last year, it was only a matter of time before people turned their attention to when Sony could unveil the more powerful “Pro” version.

As per a post by the officialPlayStationX account, there will be a Technical Presentation hosted by the PS5’s Lead Architect, Mark Cerny, on September 10 at 8:00 am PT. Unlike past showcases and State of Plays, this post specifies that it will revolve around the technical side rather than the games themselves, with the PS5 logo and the message “The Journey Continues” strongly suggesting that this will be the look at new hardware like the PS5 Pro.

The live stream will be available on thePlayStationYouTube channel, where viewers can currently set a reminder to be alerted as it’s about to start.

Sony May Have Already Revealed The PS5 Pro’s Design

It’s long been reported that the PS5 Pro is on the way, with developers working to make titles compatible with the newer hardware. While there had been several reports of technical specs that varied from sounding like a minor upgrade to a major overhaul, several images of the new console seemed to leaklast month as well.

Best PS5 Games Of 2024 (So Far)

2024 has only just begun, but the PS5 is already off to an incredible start, delivering a number of must-play titles in a variety of genres.

Dealabs, who shared the potential PS5 Pro image, is an extremely accurate leaker, but these images still could have been written off until an official announcement was made; Sony may have discreetly confirmed that they were real during the PlayStation 30th Anniversary celebration on September 5. APlayStation Blogpost showed a main image for the 30th Anniversary with the PlayStation logo and several devices from the brand’s history thatincluded a PS5 design that looks identical to the aforementioned PS5 Pro leak, showing a console with multiple stripes in the middle of the outer plates. The current 2023 PS5 model only features a single stripe as part of its modular design.

Fortunately, with less than a day to go until the showcase, players hopefully won’t have to wait much longer to get more concrete details about Sony’s next console, and how much of an upgrade it will be compared to the currentPlayStation 5model. Considering the timing of the presentation, it also won’t be too much of a surprise if the console’s launch is coming sooner rather than later, most likely in time for the holidays.
