Following a number of hints thatRed Dead Redemptionwould be receiving a PC port, a new update implies that the port could be coming very soon. Developed by Rockstar Games,Red Dead Redemptionwas originally released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2010, and while it later received ports to the PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2023, the game has never been officially made available to play on PC platforms. As more console exclusives make their way to PC, however, it seems likeRDRmight not be too far behind.
As shown in a tweet fromTezFunz2on X (formerly Twitter), a datamined update to Rockstar’s launcher site suggests thata PC port ofRed Dead Redemptionis coming sooner rather than later, with one datamined string describing the game as “now playable on PC.” Additionally, another tweet from TezFunz2shows that a backend Steam update has also accidentally added the metadata for the game as well.

Currently, however, no official announcements have been made regarding the port, leaving any sort of potential release date still up in the air.
An RDR PC Port Is On The Horizon - Despite The Lack Of Official Announcements
While Rockstar has yet to make any official statements, the PC port forRed Dead Redemptionwas leakedwhen its listing on the PlayStation Store was updated in August 2024 to mention that the game was “now on PC for the first time ever.” The description has since been updated to remove that line, but in conjunction with previous datamines of Rockstar’s website and the most recent update, it’s all but certain thatan announcement forRed Dead Redemptionon PC is quickly approaching.
New Red Dead Redemption Release Is Destined For Greatness
The PlayStation Store may have just revealed Red Dead Redemption’s launch on PC is imminent, and it has the potential to be the best version yet.
Notably,Red Dead Redemption2andRed Dead Onlineare already available on PC, having been ported to the platform in 2019, and Rockstar’s other games, like theGrand Theft Autoseries, have generally been made available on the platform as well, sothere’s ample precedent for aRed Dead Redemptionport. An official announcement for the port could show up at an upcoming game event, like The Game Awards 2024, but the possibility of the port simply being announced on its own is also likely.

Over fourteen years have passed since the original release ofRed Dead Redemptionwithout the game having ever made its way to PC. As PC gaming’s place in the market continues to expand, however, more console exclusives than ever are making their way to the platform, sometimes even including old classics that were originally passed over. There haven’t been any official statements regarding the release ofRed Dead Redemptionon PC, but recent updates make it all but certain that a port is imminent.
