A fate worse than death, or at least slightly inconvenient inThe Sims 1, is having their Sim turn into a zombie. With the new release ofThe Sims 1and2in a legacy collection for the game’s 25th anniversary, a new generation of players will have unfettered access to every expansion pack ever released and all the strange content inside. This meansnew players will also encounter strange situations and problems that aren’t as commonin later games, including what to do when your favorite Sim has become a member of the undead.
Thankfully, the problem introduced inone expansion packis solved by another, so you can restore your Sim after a near brush with death. That close call with the Grim Reaper does come at a cost, soyou shouldn’t expect your Sim to come back exactly the same as before. Thankfully,The Sims 1’s version of a zombie Sim isn’t nearly as bad as later entries, where the supernatural creatures drive away all other Sims and become stinky much faster than normal Sims, likely due to the understandable rotting situation.

How To Turn Your Sim Back After Becoming A Zombie
Sims can only become a zombie one way in the first game, unlike the plethora of options available inThe Sims 2and3, like being bitten or poorly resurrected by a genie. First introduced in the expansion packLivin’ Large, Sims can onlybecome a zombie if they die and are poorly resurrected by the Grim Reaper. Another Sim on the household lot with a close relationship must be nearby tobeg the Grim Reaperfor the dying Sim’s life. By pleading with the Grim Reaper, the you can try to win a game of rock-paper-scissors to earn your loved one’s life back.
The Sims 1: All Cheat Codes & How To Use Them (Legacy Collection)
The Sims 1 is back in the form of The Sims Legacy Collection, here is every cheat code from the original that works in the game’s re-release.
If you lose the game, but theGrim Reaper is in a good mood anyway, he’ll bring the dead Sim back as a zombie, saying, “So sorry, you lose. But the Grim Reaper is feeling generous today. Don’t get too excited though, because a zombie is now born!”.Fortunately for the rest of the Sims in the house, zombies inThe Sims 1are functionally the same as normal Sims, unlike later games that modified their walk cycle, personalities, and occasional thoughts for brains to be slightly scarier. In the first game, zombies simply turn green and lose all personality points but retain their skill points.

The only way to bring a Sim back to normal is to go to Miss Lucille, an NPC wearing a yellow dress and a wide-brim hat, first introduced inUnleashed, who reads palms at the Old Town community lot.
Miss Lucille will charge 200 Simoleons to bring a zombie Sim back with the Revivification option, but the resurrection does have a chance to fail.

If successful, Miss Lucille will say, “Congratulations, your zombie is again among the living!”. If unsuccessful, she’ll say, “I’m afraid that your zombie does not wish to return to the land of the living at this time. Sorry. No refunds!”.
What Happens Once Your Sim Is No Longer A Zombie
Regaining A Personality Isn’t As Hard As It Seems
Once the revivification with Miss Lucille is successful, zombieSims will lose their green skin but will not regain anything from their past personality, as every trait was set to zero earlier. Fortunately, there are some ways to gain personality traits inThe Sims 1, but they can be time-consuming. The first option is to use the Madame Blahbatfry Crystal Ball, first introduced inLivin’ Large, which gives you tasks to complete that can earn you a point if you are done in 24 hours.
The Original Sims Is Harder Than You Remember
Changes to needs and the addition of aspirations and the rewards they give have made later main games for The Sims feel easier than the original game.
These tasks include cleaning the entire house to earn a Neat point or spending ten hours with neighbors to earn an Outgoing point. The other way to earn back some personality is tobrew a yellow potion using the Concoctanation Station, thepotion kit that came withLivin’ Largealongside the crystal ball.

You must brew a yellow potion that modifies personality points. The yellow potionchanges the Sims' personality by reversing their points on the scale. For example, a Sim with two on the Active scale will get an eight, which will turn them from a couch potato to an athlete. This means that any Sim with zero will instantly go to 10, which allows former zombies to become more alive than ever before.
