Star Wars’next TV show,Andorseason 2, is just around the corner, but attention has been drawn away from it for the most annoying reason. I’m incredibly eager to see whatAndorseason 2has in store for audiences. Season 1 was a brilliant addition toStar Warsmovies and TV shows, although it arguably didn’t get the hype it deserved at the time.
Since then, it has begun to be seen as one ofStar Wars’best TV shows(a title I think the show earned), which means there should be plenty of hype around its second and final season. This is especially true given some major characters who were absent in season 1 will be appearing in this latest installment. Unfortunately, there is one very frustrating reason why interest inAndoris once again much lower than it should be.

The Kathleen Kennedy Report Broke At The Worst Possible Time For Andor
This News And The Associated Discourse Have Taken Away From Andor
Last week, theAndorseason 2 trailerofficially dropped, and there was plenty of fanfare and interest in everything that the trailer suggested is coming in the new season. Just a few days later, though,a rumor began spreading that Kathleen Kennedy was retiring from Lucasfilm. Because Kennedy has been such a controversial figure, this quickly took center stage, completely knocking the brand-new trailer and upcoming season of the show out of the spotlight.

Kennedy ultimately confirmed that the rumors of her retirement were not quite correct. Although succession conversations are happening,Kathleen Kennedy is not retiringat this time, and there is currently no exact timeline in place. Unfortunately, the damage was already done forAndorseason 2 and its time in the limelight. GivenAndor’sApril 22nd, 2025, release date,Star Warsalso has a very limited window of time to turn this around.

Star Wars Needs A Strong Marketing Push To Win This Back
There Is Still Time For Star Wars To Turn This Around
All hope is not lost forAndorseason 2, butStar Warsdoes have to increase interest once more in the show because of the fallout from all this news. One major positive on this front is that Star Wars Celebration 2025 is taking place the weekend beforeAndorseason 2 releases. This year, Star Wars Celebration is happening from April 18th to the 20th in Japan. This will certainly stir up plenty of interest in the franchise.
All hope is not lost forAndorseason 2.
That won’t giveStar Warsmuch time to get audiences interested inAndorseason 2, though, so hopefully the franchise will act sooner rather than later, in addition to all that will happen at Star Wars Celebration. There are a host of ways this could be done, from providing interviews to dropping some hints on social media, but it remains to be seen what exactly the franchise’s strategy will be. For my part, I really hopeStar Warscan turn this around, asAndorseason 2 definitely deserves the hype.
