The first group promo image forSuits LAhas been released, revealing California’s counterpart to Pearson, Hardman. Due to the unexpectedstreaming resurgence ofSuitsin 2023,creator Aaron Korsh returned to the legal drama franchiseand worked on launching a new expansion series. This was a more plausible route than doing a revival, considering how tricky it would be to recruit the original show’s cast. In the end, Korsh decided to establish a new law firm on the opposite coast of the country.
On Instagram,Stephen Amellshared the first proper cast photo forSuits LA. The image comes from a promotional booklet for MIPCOM (Marché International des Programmes de Communication). Aside from Amell, who plays Ted Black, the marketing photo also featuresJosh McDermitt, LexScott Davis, and Bryan Greenberg as Stuart Lane, Erica Rollins, and Rick Dodsen, respectively. Thepremise forSuits LAis quite different from its parent series. WhenSuitsstarted,Harvey Specter had just been promoted, which is why he needed an associate, resulting in him hiring Mike Ross. In the spinoff, Black’s firm is in crisis. It’s unclear why, but it’s quite a gloomy starting point. Amell’s character is a former federal prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself and now represents some of the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. While the show is technically an ensemble, the poster conveys that he is at the center of its storytelling.
Regardless of his brand of comedy, Lane sounds like a version of Louis Litt.

This will help the new spinoff to bring in more viewers. What’s curious now is when it will be released. NBC has a full roster of shows that debuted during the 2024-2025 TV cycle. This means thatSuits LAwill likely premiere during the midseason or the next season, which may seem too far off.
