These 10Star Warscharacters have the most screen time throughoutthe entireStar Warstimeline—and they might surprise you. While many of the characters fromStar Wars’best moviesmay have been among the most beloved for decades, that doesn’t necessarily translate to the amount of screen time they’ve had. In fact, some ofStar Wars’best charactersfall shockingly low on the list of characters with the most screen time.
In part, this is because ofStar Wars’many TV shows, especially the animated shows. With shows likeStar Wars: The Clone Wars,Star Wars Rebels, andStar Wars: The Bad Bad, some characters that have never even appeared inStar Warsmovies have ample screen time simply because of the sheer number of episodes they’ve appeared in. According toThe Screen Time Holocron, here are the 10 characters with the most screen time throughout all ofStar Wars’movies and TV shows.

10Omega
Omega was a brand-new addition inThe Bad Batch, and a brilliant one at that. When she was introduced inThe Bad Batch, Omega was a true anomaly. She was revealed to be an ‘unaltered’ female clone of Jango Fett, meaning that she had no rapid aging or other modifications that the clones of the Clone Army had. Her only counterpart at the time in that sense was Boba Fett, who was also unaltered. The major difference, of course, is that Omega is female.
Later in the show, it was revealed that there was another female clone of Jango Fett, named Emerie Karr.

Despite only appearing inThe Bad Batchso far,Omega has just under five and a half hours of screen time inStar Wars. This makes some degree of sense, as Omega was a major character in the show that ran for three seasons. What is shocking is that she beats out all the other characters in that show in terms of screen time, including the members of The Bad Batch themselves. This number may also go up for Omega, asThe Bad Batchseason 3 endingrevealed that Omega joined the Rebellion, suggesting she could appear in another project.
9Kanan Jarrus
First Appeared In: Star Wars Rebels
Another main character fromStar Wars’animated shows,Jedi Kanan Jarrus has the ninth-highest screen time of allStar Warscharacters. Kanan was introduced inRebelsas one of the survivors of Order 66, who had changed his name from Caleb Dume to Kanan Jarrus during the Imperial Era for his own protection. He became a beloved character on that show, as he took on a fatherly role with Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger and proved that Jedi could have romantic attachments without falling to the dark side.
Kanan’sStar Warsscreen time comes in right around five and a half hours as well, only beating out Omega by about five minutes. What is most surprising about Kanan’s screen time ranking is that he beats out some of the otherRebelscharacters who returned to theStar Warsscreen inAhsoka, whereas Kanan did not. Of course, as the Jedi of the show, Kanan played a massive role inRebels, so it makes some sense that he would still have more screen time.

8Kaz Xiono
First Appeared In: Star Wars Resistance
Kazuda “Kaz” Xiono is a major character inStar Wars’canon animated seriesStar WarsResistance. The show, set just beforeStar Wars: The Force Awakens, focuses on the efforts of the Resistance to fight back against the rising power of the First Order. Because of that storyline and the show’s place in theStar Warstimeline,Resistance’scast of charactersalso features main characters from the movies, including Poe Dameron, voiced by Oscar Isaac himself, and Leia Organa, voiced by Rachel Butera.
InResistance, Kaz is a pilot within the Resistance and the son of Senator Hamato Xiono.BecauseResistanceis far from the most prominentStar Warsproject, Kaz’s place on this list is surprising. Yet again, though,Star Wars’animated shows have a heavy hand in these numbers, so much so that lesser-known characters are beating out the franchise’s stars, such as Luke Skywalker. Kaz’s estimated screen time comes in just over six hours.
7Kai Brightstar
First Appeared In: Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures
Another surprise,Kai Brightstar, one of the main characters inStar Wars’canon showStar Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, is among the characters with the most screen time.Young Jedi Adventuresis targeted to a much younger audience thanStar Warstypically is. WhileStar Warsis known to be ‘for children,‘Young Jedi Adventuresis really geared toward a pre-school and younger grade school audience.
This makes Kai’s addition on this list quite a shock, especially in light of theStar Warscharacters who don’t make the top ten in terms of screen time. Nevertheless,Kai’s total screen time inStar Warscomes in at about six hours and seventeen minutes, reflecting a combination ofYoung Jedi Adventures’shorts and full-fledged seasons. At present, a potential season 3 ofYoung Jedi Adventuresis not among the confirmedupcomingStar WarsTV shows.

6Sabine Wren
Sabine Wren is yet anotherRebelscharacter with some of the highest screen time inStar Wars, but, unlike Kanan, Sabine has now also starred inAhsoka. InRebels, Sabine was introduced as a Mandalorian with an artistic flair and a mysterious, clearly traumatic past involving working with the Empire and ultimately being cast off by her family. She was a major character in the show, and she had a rather interesting dynamic with another main character, Ezra Bridger (at times having romantic undertones and at times seeming more like siblings).
Ahsokasurprised audiences by revealing that Ahsoka Tano was training Sabine in the ways of the Force, although Sabine had shown no Force sensitivity inRebels. Nevertheless, this arc played a major role inAhsokaseason 1, and, astheAhsokafinaleended with Sabine and Ahsoka trapped on Peridea together, that is likely to continue. At present,Sabine’s total screen time is just over six and a half hours, butAhsokaseason 2 will undoubtedly see that number increase.
Ahsoka Season 2: Story, Updates, Everything We Know
Ahsoka season 2 is confirmed and has received exciting new story and filming updates. Here’s everything we know about the Star Wars project.
5Din Djarin
First Appeared In: The Mandalorian
Din Djarin is a much less surprising inclusion on this list, as he is the star ofThe Mandalorian, which has now run for three seasons. The Mandalorianis easily amongStar Wars’best TV shows, andStar Warsis clearly aware of that, given the franchise’s next movie,The Mandalorian & Grogu, will be the firstStar Warsshow to make the jump to the big screen. The Mandalorian & Groguwill also mean a major update to Din Djarin’s total screen time, which currently comes in at just under seven and a half hours.
Everything We Know About The Mandalorian & Grogu Movie
The Mandalorian’s story will continue with a Star Wars movie. Here’s everything we know about the project, including cast, release, and timeline.
It’s safe to assume thatThe Mandalorian & Groguwill add about two hours to Din Djarin’s total screen time, which will likely move him up even further in the top five characters in terms of screen time. It will also be interesting to see where Din’s story goes next and how that impacts his overall screen time. It still isn’t clear ifThe Mandalorian & Groguis replacingThe Mandalorianseason 4 or if that will be released further down the line.
4Obi-Wan Kenobi
First Appeared In: A New Hope
It’s unsurprising that Obi-Wan Kenobi ranks so highly on the list ofStar Warscharacters with the most screen time. Obi-Wan debuted inA New Hope, and while he died in that movie, he continued to play a role in the original trilogy as a Force ghost. He then became a major character in the prequel trilogy, and he has since appeared in multipleStar Warsshows, including as a major character inThe Clone Warsand the leading character inObi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan even had a cameo inRebelswhen Darth Maul fought him on Tatooine.
It’s unsurprising that Obi-Wan Kenobi ranks so highly on the list ofStar Warscharacters with the most screen time.
There have also been manyhints thatObi-Wan Kenobiseason 2 is coming, although that initially seemed to clearly just be a limited series. This would obviously mean even more screen time for Obi-Wan.Currently, his screen time is sitting right at nine hours.
3Ezra Bridger
Ezra Bridger is theRebelscharacter with the most screen time inStar Wars, although that isn’t all that surprising.Rebelswas really an ensemble cast that comprised the entire Ghost crew, but if there was one character to be considered the main character, it would be Ezra. Like Sabine, Ezra also appeared inAhsoka, although not until the very end. In fact, inAhsoka, Ezra only had twenty minutes of screen time, meaning his total of nine hours and sixteen minutes inStar Warsalmost entirely comprises his time inRebels.
It’s also likely that Ezra’s time inAhsokaseason 2 will be much more significant than his time in season 1 was. While Ahsoka and Sabine are now trapped on Peridea, Ezra managed to escape the planet aboardGrand Admiral Thrawn’sship. As Thrawn now poses a major threat to the galaxy and Ezra is one of the few surviving Jedi at the time, he is sure to become much more important to the plot of the show.
It’s also likely that Ezra’s time inAhsokaseason 2 will be much more significant than his time in season 1 was.
2Ahsoka Tano
First Appeared In: Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Ahsoka Tano has easily become one of the biggest characters inStar Wars, which makes her nearly eleven hours of screen time in the franchise make perfect sense. Ahsoka is one of only twoStar Warscharacters who have surpassed ten hours of total screen time in the franchise’s nearly 50 years. Yet, looking at her numerousStar Warsappearances, it’s easy to see why.
Ahsoka is one of only twoStar Warscharacters who have surpassed ten hours of total screen time in the franchise’s nearly 50 years.
Ahsoka was introduced in theStar Wars: The Clone Warsmovie and then became a major character in theClone Warsshow, which had a seven-season run. Since then, Ahsoka has appeared inRebels,The Mandalorian,Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, andAhsoka, to name just a few. WithAhsokaseason 2 coming in the next few years and the possibility that she will play a role in other future projects,Ahsoka Tano’s prominence inStar Warsis likely to only grow.
1Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader
Unsurprisingly,Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader is theStar Warscharacter with the most screen time overall. In addition to beingthe Chosen One, Anakin is simply one of the most important characters in the entire franchise. Luke may have been the leading character inA New Hope, but Anakin’s story has since come to dominateStar Wars. Anakin/Vader’s appearances in numerousStar Warsmovies and shows have given him a staggering total of eleven and a half hours of screen time.
Anakin/Vader’s appearances in numerousStar Warsmovies and shows have given him a staggering total of eleven and a half hours of screen time.
Notably, these calculations are not without their flaws. For example, the total screen time for Luke Skywalker doesn’t take into account his appearance inStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalkerfor whatever reason. Nevertheless, these rough estimates of theStar Warscharacters with the most screen time reveal some shocking insights into the franchise’s major characters.
