Today’s Connections Category Hints
FEBRUARY 25 #625
This puzzle has some interesting mechanics andthe main issue included two of the categories feeling like a few words could switch between them. There was also a pair of words that I really wanted to pair up, but they were not destined to be together in this puzzle. To help you avoid the mistakes I made, here are some clues:
9 Helpful Tips To Beat The Password Game (& 1 Useless One)
The Password Game can be frustrating as it uses complex mechanics that can be difficult to figure out, even with help.
If you are still struggling, the category names will likely clear a lot of the confusion,as that would prevent the interchanging words from being used and from pairing up those last few words. However, there are always the spoilers if you need them.

RELISH
ZEST
This category was the one that I used a guess or two on, as I thought MUCHO and BEAUCOUP could also go there.I also think GUSTO could go with some of the words in the next category if you didn’t know any better, as at first glance it fits better than MULTI. However, knowing what the categories are, this makes much more sense and even though some of the others mentioned might still apply, they work much better elsewhere.
MUCHO
MULTI
I still don’t like MULTI that much here, but it does fit whether I like it or not. However, I think it is because of how it is often used in compound words, as opposed to it being on its own like many of these words are in other languages. I have learned the languages most of these words are from in at least a basic fashion, and this is often one of the first adverbs you learn. MULTI just doesn’t fit in with the same vibes in my mind, which was a fun existential crisis for me to have.

MICROWAVE
SHOEBOX
What was interesting about this one was that I guessed this combination just because they were all rectangular or “boxy” and I had no other ideas. Luckily, I was fairly spot on, and I got the category right, but I didn’t like the name of the category at all when I first saw it. I know “prism” can mean that it is a geometric figure of a certain shape now, or at least I was reminded of high school geometry, but I still don’t like it very much. I want prisms to just be refracting objects.
MORTAR
PICKLE
This one I had no idea what it would be, but I was very sad that MORTAR did not belong with BRICK in this instance. I like it a lot better when they do go together, but that might be the archaeologist in me who has dug up a lot of bricks. Otherwise, I saw PICKLE, and it reminded me of a recent puzzle, and I did put it with RELISH, LIME and ZEST on my first guess, and I was a little sad it didn’t work. Luckily, I stayed away from that fake-out after that point.
