If it feels like your mistakes are snowballing in today’sConnectionspuzzle, there are plenty of ways to use the following hints to help you recover and get to the end.Today felt quite hard to me, despite that it should be easy. I was even right about what I thought some of the categories were to no avail. This is partially due to some of the crossover words and partially due to the fact thatsome of the words feel quite disconnected from each otherwhen they are supposed to be in the same category.
In theNYTWordlepuzzle, players will be using similar strategies to try to solve a 5-letter word. There is a large back catalog of words that have already been used, as well as a list of words that are still available to be used. If you still need a bit of a boost, there are plenty more hints to come. The first set is the category names, which will be followed by full spoilers.

SATELLITE
WALKIE-TALKIE
I knew this category likely existed, but I couldn’t figure out what the last word was. It turned out to be HAM, but it took me far too long to come back to that word and guess it. I feel like that has been used in a category before, and I probably missed it that time too. I did have all of the types of radio except for that one together, but I wish I would have gotten back to HAM. It’s just not something I’m very familiar with.
SNOWBALL
WATER BALLOON
This one I was not as close to, and this feels like a harder category than the level it is currently at. I wouldn’t have put FOOD and PILLOW into the same category off the top of my head, and it feels more like one of the ___ X categories would.SNOWBALL is also a crossover word with the next category, which adds an extra layer of difficulty. I was worried about WATER BALLOON because I wasn’t sure where it would go, but figuring that out made it a lot harder.

This tricky little five by five crossword isn’t always as easy as it looks; here are a couple easy tips and tricks to beat your friends' times!
HOHO
YODEL
This is another category that I knew was this category, but figuring out what words were in it was a lot harder. DEVIL DOG was a late addition to the category, but it was really YODEL that messed me up.I haven’t come across that particular snack cake before, but I had come across SNOWBALL. So figuring out that I needed to get rid of SNOWBALL and add in YODEL was likely an impossible task for the knowledge I had at a time. At least DING DONG and HOHO didn’t let me down.
KNOCK-KNOCK
LIGHT BULBS
This one also feels quite hard, as KNOCK-KNOCK is the only one that I would have recognized as a joke right away.Just seeing BAR or CHICKEN by themselves doesn’t tell me muchabout what I’m looking for. LIGHT BULB can be just as obscure. I really wasn’t sure what these words had to do with each other. If you can latch onto KNOCK-KNOCK and figure out that these other words are put of jokes too, then you might just have a chance to get this category.
