TheAgatha All Alongshowrunner addresses her vision for a potentialScarlet Witchmovie in theMarvel Cinematic Universe. It’s been over two years since Wanda Maximoff’s tragic sacrifice at theend ofDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and her fate left the MCU audience very divided. Now, withAgatha All Alongnearing its finale, many are hoping the MCU could be getting closer to resurrecting the Scarlet Witch in the franchise.
Screen Rantrecently interviewedAgatha All Alongshowrunner Jac Schaeffer, who also created the MCU TV showWandaVison, from which the Agatha Harkness series was spun off. When Schaeffer was asked if she has an idea for what a Scarlet Witch movie or show would look like afterAgatha All Along, given how long she has spent with these characters, and especially if Wanda comes back from the dead, she gave the following response:

These characters are so alive to me; I can imagine a million things. They just are so full and that is so much because of the actors that play them and how capable they are and how special they are. Also, because of the writers that I work with, the ideas that they have, and the worlds that they build. So, yeah, there are a million ideas for all of these fabulous people.
What Jac Schaeffer’s Scarlet Witch Movie Comments Mean
While Marvel audiences are patiently waiting forScarlet Witch’s MCU return,Schaeffer’s comments highlight the great resources that come with Wanda and her family. From the strong casting that Marvel Studios have made for these characters, the writing has also elevated them throughout their time in the MCU. In Billy Maximoff’s case, his journey has just started, which could lead to similar success to Wanda’s if Marvel Studios continues to handle him well.
The idea of aScarlet Witch movieis a no-brainer at this point, sinceElizabeth Olsen’s character has become one of the most popular figures in the MCU franchise. At this point, it’s less about if she will ever be brought back and more about when she will return since Marvel Studios is clearly aware that Scarlet Witch is a character many are demanding to see be resurrected from the dead. Whether Wanda’s own movie would need to happen after The Multiverse Saga, however, is a different conversation, as the MCU is focusing heavily on finishing their current story within the next few years.

Our Take On Jac Schaeffer’s Scarlet Witch Movie Comments
Given the attachment she has to the heroine and the surrounding characters,it would be terrific to see Schaeffer spearhead another project focused on the Scarlet Witch. SinceDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessled to a lot of criticism about how Wanda’s story was handled aftertheWandaVisionending, seeing Schaeffer be the one to bring her back to the franchise would be a wise move for Marvel Studios. Hopefully, Marvel will greenlight aScarlet Witchmovie, with Schaeffer at the helm, sooner rather than later.
The final two episodes ofAgatha All Alongwill be released Wednesday, October 30, at 9pm ET on Disney+.
