Warning! Spoilers for The Night Agent season 2 ahead!Javad was a key player inThe Night Agentseason 2, but his story didn’t turn out as he anticipated. Javad was the head of security at the Iranian Mission, dedicated to protecting his country’s ambassador to the UN, Abbas. He also began something of a romance withThe Night Agent’s Noor, not realizing that she was secretly passing information from the Mission to the FBI. Javad’s connection to Noor was nearly a significant problem for Peter Sutherland and Night Action, but the ending ofThe Night Agentseason 2 saw this character subdued by the least likely of people.

While the central issue ofThe Night Agentseason 2 revolved around an attemptedterrorist attack at the UN building in New York City, the Iranian Mission played a key role in the story. Peter’s partner, Alice, had been killed by a man named Solomon, who sold secret documents to a mysterious buyer. It’s ultimately revealed that these docs were French, and they detailed Iranian dissidents under protection in Europe. As head of security, Javad planned to use this information to eliminate those who were disloyal to Iran. However, theending ofThe Night Agentseason 2came with some surprises.

Javad in The Night Agent

Discovering thatNoor was working with the American governmentsent Javad on a downward spiral. He made a power play toward Ambassador Abbas, suspecting that the man had helped Noor escape from the Mission unharmed. This, naturally, didn’t play well with Abbas. He turned on his head of security, producing security images of Javad looking a little too friendly with Noor.

Noor was acting as a spy in hopes that the US government would get her family out of Iran and grant them asylum.

Before learning that Noor was a traitor, Javad had taken a romantic interest in the woman. He took her to lunch, visited her at her desk, and even brought her soup as a kind gesture while she was sick. The fact that Noor was working with the FBI made all these actions on Javad’s part look quite fishy. It was easy for Abbas to make it look like Javad and Noor were working together, which meant it was the head of security’s fault that the FBI spy left the Mission with important documents.

What’s Next For Javad?

The last we saw of Javad, Abbas hadn’t quite pulled the trigger to frame his head of security for aiding Noor. He had only shown his hand, demonstrating just how easy it would be for all this to fall on Javad’s shoulders. Still, it seems more than likely that Abbas will go through with it. After all, at the end ofThe Night Agent, Noor is successfully granted asylum.Someone at the Iranian Mission will have to go down for what Noor got away with, and Abbas certainly won’t allow it to be him.

The Night Agent Season 3: Cast, Story & Everything We Know

Netflix’s The Night Agent is one of the most popular action series currently streaming today, and the show has already earned a third season.

The first step for Javad is being sent back to Iran. From there, the investigation against him will be fully underway. It’s difficult to say whether the evidence of his affection for Noor will be enough for him to go down as a traitor. Regardless,it’s unlikely that Javad will ever be involved with the Iranian Mission in the United States again.

Abbas Put His Daughter First

Abbas and Javad were thick as thieves inThe Night Agent 2, so the betrayal here was something of a surprise. However, the truth of it all came down entirely to Abbas' daughter. Earlier in the Netflix series' second installment, Javad explained to Noor thatAbbas' daughterhad turned on Iran, leaving her father devastated. When Abbas caught Noor at the Mission making Peter a UN badge, she realized that the ambassador’s own daughter was on the French documents. She quickly offered to warn the French Embassy that the docs had been leakedto the Iranian Mission and that the dissidents were in danger.

Abbas took Noor’s deal, giving her the documents and pretending never to have seen her that night at the mission.

Abbas took Noor’s deal, giving her the documents and pretending never to have seen her that night at the mission. The man shared Javad’s loyalty to Iran and didn’t condone his daughter’s actions. However, he also didn’t want her killed. When Javad made his power play, it became clear to Abbas that the man would stop at nothing to punish traitors. The ambassador had a natural soft spot for Noor—she might have reminded him of his daughter—but in the end,Javad was just too dangerous for Abbas to keep around inThe Night Agentseason 2.
